The colour is amber – pale brown, the liquid is clear. The three finger head is pale beige and compact; it sinks slowly leaving no lacing.
The smell is dry with some red malts, toffee and nuts. It is fairly fresh with some herbs, metal and a touch of yeast.
The taste is smooth with a fine balance of malt and bitterness. Nuts, toffee, and hints of milk chocolate and lemongrass. Medium body. The aftertaste is smooth with passing bitterness, and some coffee candy. An odd note of burned bread in otherwise smooth finish.
The carbonation is medium strong; the small fresh bubbles are short-lived.
All in all, a pleasant amber ale.
