Hints of Carmel and citrus. Very malty beer.

This is a surprisingly malty IPA, and if that's not exactly a bad thing, it does make for an experience that may not be what you had in mind.

The slightly coppery color accurately portends the balance of caramel and pale malts. More hop expression would certainly be welcome, even in a malt-forward IPA. It's a tasty beer, but not amazing, and not something I'm likely to repeat - but would certainly do in a pinch on tap.

7/20/21 Bought a bottle of this local brew at Robbie's on Islamorada. I wandered around their docks drinking out of the bottle while the kids fed the tarpon and watched a guy fileting newly caught mahi and throwing the scraps to the nurse sharks. So I don't know what it looks like, and I didn't sniff it, so I don't know how it smells. It is very mild flavored, with a very mild feel. A session beer. Unremarkable, but not bad.

Color is chill hazed deep gold/pale amber with little effervescence, an unremarkable head and no lacing. Aroma and flavor are pretty much the same: caramel malt, citrus and earthy hops. Taste is pretty much the same but more vibrant. My feel is the low end of medium-bodied with low effervescence just sort of sits on the tongue. Little or no spirit. Mediocre and unremarkable. Just another IPA in a jungle of IPAs.

Just a hint of hops sneaks through on this watery brew. Almost hard to to tell you’re drinking a beer. If you don’t really enjoy beer, this ones for you!

Aroma of toasted and caramel malts over earthy hops and slight oxidation. Taste follows, a touch of hop spiciness and mild oxidation. Clean and hoppy finish with an unexpected malt back bone I was not expecting!

Not many IPAs available on draft in the Keys in early 2019. This one is pretty good- reminds me of a weaker version of SN Celebration.

12 oz bottle, no dating (or at least the kind I can readily figure out). Stamped 17.317. I'm hoping that doesn't mean March 17th, 2017. Anyways...

This is another one of those "had no cell phone service, so I had to buy on sight/label like everybody else" beers.

Pours a really nice mahogany color with hints of honey, way darker than expected. Nice firm cap of white. Creamy, doesn't go anywhere, tight bubbles. Artistry. Very impressive, very stunning. This is how a beer should look. Wow.

Aromas of bright fruits - namely pineapple, with hints of banana and tangerine. Definitely getting the island vibe here. Nutty malts hide behind the tropical fruits.

Flavor is very clean, fruity, impressive. Has a woody/nutty character to start, followed by a slight kiss of pine, and then a beautiful wave of pineapple, orange, tangerine, white grape, and oat bread.

Feel is crisp and clean, slight resin, leaves a slight carpet burn on the tip of the tongue. Numbing. Only downfall of the beer at this point.

Overall, you could drink this beer seven times over and miss the nuances that are tucked within its beautiful nutty flavor profile. The nuances are where its at, and as a session beer, it's all about nuances. This beer kicks serious ass.
