Pours black with a thin tan head and minimal lacing.

The smell is a lot of bourbon up front with a little sweet chocolate underneath.

The taste puts dark, bitter chocolate up front with bourbon in the middle and a lingering sweet finish. As it warms there's some char and smoke.

The mouthfeel is very thick and velvety smooth.

Great beer thanks to prager62.

Received in a trade and shared with JLindros. 2018 vintage.

A - Poured into a Kate the Great tulip a dark brown almost black with a thin head that fades to leave light wisps. Lovely legs though.

S - Aromas of honey sweetness, big whisky notes and huge barrel char. As it warms the alcohol pops more and more. The cocoa element is pleasant, dark and roasty. Flashes of fusel alcohol as well.

T - Taste is similar to the nose with nice honey sweetness, nice and floral, before going with big barrel char. The whisky is very pleasant, and potent, with nice dark almost dry chocolate. As it warms the whisky elements become a bit more strong and aggressive, however, it never really overpowers the base beer.

M - Mouthfeel nicely carbonated, little creamy, alcohol is hidden quite well and smooth.

O - Overall this was a rather pleasant imperial stout. The whisky elements here are enormous along with the barrel notes of char. The chocolate is pleasant and the honey brings a sweet element to the table. The appearance and nose were quite solid.

Pours a smaller fizzy foamy dark head with lower retention, no lacing but thick legs, jet black color, it basically paints the glass

Nose is nice, big sweet malts, dark mild roasty malt with cocoa and dark chocolate, almost fudgey, plenty of whiskey, some barrel char, and a bit of vanilla oak, juicy raw honey, some fusel alcohol, when I go deep I get some raw cocoa

Taste brings a strange fruity flavor almost like an infection fruity flavor, into fudgey raw cocoa, roasted charred malt, quite roasty, into fair amount of whiskey and vanilla barrel, big honey floral sweetness, a little fudgey chocolate and raw cocoa, the fruity flavors are still on the back but could be honey characters or RIS yeast derived esters, some caramel and creamy lactose notes, hint of baking spices, light fusel alcohol probably from the whiskey, mostly dry finish

Mouth is fuller bod, rich fair creamy, med-lighter carb, light warming alcohol a touch tingly

Overall enjoyable, there's still some fruity character in the taste maybe the honey or possible the fusel alcohol flavor, but the whiskey and honey are both strong and nice

Poured from 500 ml bottle into snifter. 2016 Vintage and labeled batch 112.

A: Very dark brown tending towards black with 2 finger dense frothy mocha head that seems to last forever and leaves nice lacing.

S: Chocolate, lactose, and honey mixed with whiskey and cherries.

T: Rich chocolate fudge and whiskey with a bit of cherries. The honey adds a subtle sweetness that complements the other flavors nicely. As it warmed, some oak and tobacco creeps in.

M: Full bodied with suprising carbonation for a BA stout and a soft creamy texture.

O: Excelllent stout. Thanks again to @egrace84 for giving me a chance to try it.

Appearance - The beer was deep black with a mocha colored head.

Smell - Rich chocolate and booze are dominant.

Taste - At the front, I note the booze and chocolate. Amazingly, the booze allows the honey to exist. The lactose adds an undercurrent of sweetness. Chocolate notes are delicious. There is a real sense of fudge that carries to the aftertaste.

Mouthfeel - The way it sticks to the roof of the mouth, this is like eating fudge.

Overall - Another well done gem from Four Fathers.
