One of our flagship beers. Aggressive
hoppy aromas and flavors intertwined with a malty backbone to balance it out. Dry hopped to bring out a blend of bright citrus and pine hop character.

On tap at Al-Starz, watching March Madness with the girls.
LOOK: dull yellow, mildly hazy, creamy medium head,
AROMA: pineapple, mango, very fruity and efervescant.
TASTE: ashy, fruity aslo, but not as tasty as the aroma teases.
FEEL: medium to fill body, but easy drinking.
Good tasty ipa.

12oz can purchased from the fridge as a single for $1.99. No canned on date; this beer has been sitting in my fridge for a while, I would guess that it is 6-9 months old.
Look: Moderately hazy, golden orange color. Nice thick, fluffy off-white head.
Smell: I'm not sure if this smells a bit oxidized, and if it does then that's on me. I get an orange vitamin / orange cream kind of note. Other medicinal notes. Lots of pine and some herbal notes. Overall, the nose is a bit muted.
Taste: Alright, this tastes pretty good. I was a bit worried because it didn't smell like what I expecting and it is an old can. Up front, there is a good amount of biscuity malt sweetness and some caramel malt, along with notes of orange zest. Then the beer gets aggressively bitter pretty quickly with a lingering bitter finish. There is more caramel malt on the finish along with lots of pine resin and orange peel and pith.
Feel: It has a medium or medium plus body. It's slightly chewy and oily.
Overall: This is my first beer from Spellbound Brewing. This reminds me a bit of Daisy Cutter Pale Ale. It's a tasty American IPA. It definitely fulfills that "I need a bitter, piney, orange-zesty IPA" itch.

Really nice, drinkable IPA, nicely hoppy and well-balanced. A great bang for the buck and one of the earlier commercially viable microbreweries in NJ. Now we have some higher rated fancy expensive brews, but Spellbound is still a good old standby.

A - Pours a clear copper color with light off white colored lacing.
S - Aroma is so light that it's barely detectable. Delicate citrus and caramel malt (of what's there).
T - Light caramel malt base with resiny citrus and pine over the top.
M - Medium body with sprightly, prickly carbonation.
O - A solid, updated traditional IPA style that drinks very easy.

12 ounce can poured into a Duvel tulip glass. There is either no date on the can, or I can't decipher the nonsense that's there.
L---Opaque/hazy, Amber color. Fluffy, pure white head that faded quickly to a cap and left good lacing.
S---Very hoppy. Citrus fruits and light pine as advertised.
T---Follows the nose with citrus & light pine. More malty than expected for an American IPA.
F---Medium/full bodied with good carbonation. Just a bit of stickiness.
O---A damn solid IPA from an unknown brewery. I'll keep an eye out for Spellbound in the future.

Found a can at Wegmans and decided to give it a try. Not sure how old it is but still has a kick to it. Nice bitterness and mouthfeel but missing the pine or citrus that was indicated on the can label. From the scent I wasn’t expecting a strong flavor but hoped to have a little more than just a bitter aftertaste. I like the can and the mouthfeel. Happy to try something new. Maybe this can just wasn’t fresh. Without dating we will never know. Glad to have tried it.

Good solid copper color is that of the brew which fell from a 12 oz. can into a clear pint glass. Less than solid is an aroma, it's rather subdued. There's only a little head and lacing. Then, the taste moves things along. It has a significant malt backbone and it gives a nice sharp, bitter and clean hop bite. It really is a nicely balanced AIPA. Maybe not among the best, but certainly better than most.

Sent to me in a BIF ( thanks MacMalt!) and enjoyed in a pint glass.
The head was impressive, trying to foam over right after popping the tab, but I got most of it into the glass.
The aroma was milder than I expected, but very pleasant. The flavor was definitely not expected- I had the impression it was more a midwestern style than East. It was really tasty, just not expected.
I would certainly be happy to drink these on occasion, and very grateful for the opportunity to try it.

It pours dark amber with a relatively small head. The aroma is fairly malty and spicy with some piney notes. No idea how fresh this is but the levels of bitterness are fairly intense which complement the very malty base.
