Appearance - The beer poured black color with a dark tan head.
Smell - The nose was straightforward malt with light hints of coconut and seemed a bit soured.
Taste - The beer seemed like a straight forward stout, like Guinness. There was a light oily coconut hint, but it was overwhelmed by a light ashy presence. Not only was there not much coconut, but the beer was not a good stout overall.
Mouthfeel - with the malts, there was a degree of thickness.
Overall - I bought the beer on clearance for $4.99. I got what I paid for.

This is infected. Sour and metallic notes with a buttery finish. Gross.

Light and flat appearing stout. No coconut flavor. Minimal roasted malt. Body is super light. Not impressed.

This is simply the perfect summer dark beer. The coconut taste is strong yet, not sweet. The anticipation of the first sip begins with the aroma after the pour.
I have found that bombers do not offer the complexity of taste found in a fresh draft.

Holy crap. Totally took me by surprise. Incredibly rich chocolate coconut flavor.

22 ounce bottle, no dating on it that I noticed. Served in a nonic pint glass, the beer pours dark brown/black with maybe an inch tan head. Head retention and lacing are both good. The brew smells like roasted malt, coconut, and chocolate. Taste is similar to the aroma, but there's also some dark fruitiness and coffee noticeable. Kinda tastes like a Mounds bar with some dark fruit added. Mouthfeel/body is light/medium, it's a bit coating and creamy with moderate carbonation. I liked this brew, glad I got to try it. Next time I'm in Indiana I'll make a point to try some more Scarlet Lane brews. $11.49 a bomber.

Enjoyed off of tap in a tulip glass at a local watering hole.
Look- dark almost black look with lighter than normal carbonization and a very thin head.
Smell- a sweet malty with notes of chocolate and coconut
Taste- smooth taste with chocolate, coconut and sweet malt with a small hops backing
Feel- smooth almost like drinking a good scotch in smoothness, not overtly carbonated but not unpleasant.
Overall - I will always order a local stout when out at a place and one is available because they are good beer for the abv when I am driving. Dorian in all it's various renditions is the best one in my opinion in the Indy always available status.
