Bold, citrusy, and piney, our double IPA isn’t just a bigger version of Rebel IPA. Instead we explored a different balance of hop character, including Bravo & Galaxy hops, and upped the ante on their flavor and expression for a brew that’s intense yet enjoyable through every sip.

12oz bottle into tulip
Appearance - Dark golden with hints of amber, crystal clear, 1 finger head retains well and drops off sticky lacing well.
Smell - Quite perfumy and floral hops up front, a little pine and juicy tropical fruitiness, also kind of earthy. A sweet maltiness is pervasive and a decent whiff of booze blends in nicely. Not an explosive smell, but pleasant.
Taste - Not quite as hoppy as the smell would suggest - hops are forward enough though for the style and suggest juicy tropical fruits, earthy pine, slight citrus, and maybe a little onion. Sweet, honeyed maltiness with a touch of caramel. Very balanced taste. A note of alcohol is apparent and not entirely out of place, but I sense somewhat of an odd, boozy heat coming from it. This one finishes on the malty side with resiny low-moderate lingering bitterness.
Feel - Smooth and creamy medium-full body, a bit slick. Carbonation level is just high enough to scrub nicely and keep the heaviness at bay. Well done.
Overall - A pretty solid DIPA here (can't say I really like the weird boozy note though) especially considering it comes from BBC, and it comes in sixers for a low price. This one definitely focuses on hop/malt balance, with the hops just barely edging out the maltiness. Anyone looking for an insane hop-bomb will probably be disappointed, but the fact is, this is a big, well balanced, very drinkable DIPA.

Quite bitter & unbalanced. I found this one to be sort of hard to drink. Cheers! C-

When the selection is only the "normal" choices, this will suffice. I consider it the Natural Ice of IPA's. Not my first choice, but acceptable. It's my last choice before going to whiskey.
