Had high expectations for this and was disappointed.

I rate this higher than BAs.
a) Dark brown opaque body with a tan thick cap, that laces and lasts little.
s) Roast, coffee, char, and chocolate.
t) Sweet dark and bakers chocolate that lasts that finds its balance in bitterness midway, and better as it warms. Nice blended with IPA also.
f) Low carbonation, good feel, nice finish.
o) A bit too sweet by half way I was eager to blend it with an IPA.

Solid black color, medium carbonation and body, fairly smooth feel to this beer. Aroma is mix of milk and dark chocolate. Taste was mostly chocolate, to me the chocolate was the most prominent flavor. It reminded me a little of chocolate soda, which I don't care for but this was fairly decent. Not sure I would go out of my way for it but still it was very enjoyable, especially as a dessert beer

I opened one of these bad boys with an undetermined date of bottling. Upon opening and pouring this beer came out dark brown with a brownish-white head. The aroma emitted from my pint glass is rich of chocolate. After taking my first taste, I was disappointed by the lack of intense chocolate flavor up front, but it does have a good taste on the back of the tongue. It's not a bad mouthfeel, very smooth.

Maybe it's the bottle, but I was hoping for closer to perfection coming from Boston Beer.

Medium tan collar that reduces to edge-of-glass only with a little bit of lacing. Molasses odor. Vanilla taste with slightly sticky bitter aftertaste. Expected a coffee taste which I HATE so was pleasantly surprised.

Beer pours a coffee color with almost no head. The smell is sweet cocoa and cola. The flavor is carmel and vanilla and extremely smooth. This was a sample pack and this is by far the best in the pack. Oh and it had NO IPA! Thank you Sam Adams.

Poured from a 12 oz bottle.
Look - two finger head that dissipates into about one with good lacing. beer itself is dark but still see through
Smell - roasted malts, dark chocolate, and coffee. almost stout like
Taste - velvety and smooth. flavor of the dark chocolate lingers throughout the sip, lingering into the aftertaste. slightly sweet finish.
Feel - medium bodied beer. the alcohol is detectable but not too strong.
Overall - this is a nice one to sip on. pairs nicely with some actual dark chocolate.
