Again... this is part of the price of the Samuel Adams Winter Classics case. To get the other goodies, you have to put up with 4 of these and 4 of the Cranberry Lambics, too!

Pours golden-amber with a large white head. This lacks the hoppy aroma of Boston Lager, there is a little hop aroma in there, but not much. Taste is not bad, really. Much like a watered-down SA Boston Lager (surprise!) Malt and grain flavors up front, a little hop bitterness on the finish (very little!) Mouthfeel is light-beer watery. This is probably a better choice than any other Light beer, and also better than many non-light macros! I'd drink it over a Bud or Coors any day!

A: bronze amber with an off white head, that dissipates quickly and leaves a nice lace around the glass.

S: Malty overtone with a cereal and crystal malt kick.

T: First taste profile is malt with a hint of orange zest. Secondary flavor is a black pepper spiced hop note. Slight bitterness.

M: Light body with medium to medium high carbonation.

O: Pretty good for a light lager. It has the malty backbone of an actual lager, but its refreshing and pretty light. I would def recommend.

Golden brown with a medium level of activity rising from the bottom of the pilsner glass. A one finger head quickly shrank down to a little lacing.

Sharp with a slight malt and corn scent. The corn scent was not oily but instead was very alcohol based.

Crisp with a tang of alcohol. Some malt but not very flavorful.

A light body that is refreshing and which goes down smooth.

This beer is drinkable. But only because it is so light and neutral. A great representation of its style.

Light, clear copper with a dense white head.

Sweet, caramelly, biscuity malt, light citrus and hoppy hop aromas.

Crisp. Citric hops, slightly toasty, malty flavor. All light and balanced. Good.

Light-bodied and well carbonated.

If you're gonna drink light beer, this is an excellent choice, tastes light, but it also tastes like something.

Best by August 08. Pours with a light brown, clear body, and a large enough head that the whole beer can't fit in the pint glass on the first pour. Poor retention. Very lively bubbling.

Smells very clean, just a simple malt profile, the bottle says two-row. The smell is not "light," although it's not strong either. Slight grassy hops. No off notes or adjuncts.

Tastes like Sam Adams Boston Lager mixed 50/50 with water. First taste was disappointing after the smell. Not disappointing for a light beer, but because it smelled like a real beer. Weak, slightly sweet bread taste with low alpha hops, minimal bittering. No adjuncts.

Body also suffers. I would prefer higher carbonation to cover for a light, watery body, as is the norm for the style. Carbonation is smooth but dies mid-sip.

The light beer that sets the bar for others in the style. Light beer drinkers should also see New Belgium's Skinny Dip -- 110 calories and 4.2% alcohol, vs. Sam Adams Light at 124 calories and only 4.0% alcohol.
