DARKLY ENTICING – smooth, velvety cream cascades into a jet black brew revealing a rich, robust character. The dark roasted malts create notes of bittersweet chocolate with hints of dark fruit while the Sumatran & Indian Monsoon Malabar coffees develop a deep roasty dimension.

15 oz can poured into Becher pint
A — Pours into a clear brown liquid upon settling from a murky oaky brown colored hue, a creamy light brown head sits on top, looks nice enough, nice lacing with each sip.
S — Smell is muddy for lack of a better term, a murky kind of sweet, kind of bitter aroma of burnt malts and bitter chocolate and coffee, very mild, slightly grainy.
T — Taste is much like the nose, though much more pronounced bitterness, bitter, dry, bakers chocolate, over roasted coffee, charred malts, watery.
M — Light in body, very smooth, but still has a bitter finish, watery and mellow.
O — OK overall, misses the mark a bit, lacks depth of flavor and composition.

Big disappointment. I really wanted to like this beer b/c I love stouts and love coffee. The coffee element overwhelmed me and detracted from the good things: beautiful color and pour, great aroma. But it tastes like someone took a solid stout and poured a cup of super strong coffee into it. Subtlety anyone?

16 oz can
Pours opaque black, very fine light tan nitrous head retains well at a half inch.
Smells of coffee, chocolate syrup, cracker and biscuit, and lactose.
Tastes of coffee, mocha, cream, and dry biscuit.
Medium creamy body, light carbonation on the tongue.
Reasonably decent coffee stout. The pour is pretty but the nitro doesn't come through in the feel as much. Flavor is average and inoffensive. Nothing off putting. Not especially memorable.

Really nice look with a big creamy head. Smell is nutty, coffee deliciousness. The taste, to me, was both, a pleasant surprise that I do not taste the aluminum can, but I was also a little disappointed in the watered down flavor. The feel is comforting, creamy goodness. Overall, I was apprehensive about buying a beer from a can, but it was quite pleasant in general.

on tap at Filet 18 in Bloomsburg on 9/7/17.
Looks pretty good, black body coffee with cream head which persists leaving nice lacing initially
Aroma is all about the coffee.
The taste is also all about the coffee. There is only a hint of roasted malt, which I appreciate, not being a fan of stouts where the malt borders on burnt.
The mouth is on the thinner side, which is a bit of a letdown for the style. Finish is smooth and coffee.
Overall, if you like a lot of coffee in your stout, this is a pretty good option.
