Pours a reddish brown, almost mahogany color with a light tan head that leaves modest lacing.

Lots of spice, meshed with roasted malt, chocolate, and dark fruit, especially fig.

Taste follows the nose. It is very complex. Also, there is a hint of citrus from the orange.

Creamy carbonation and medium body.

Overall, one of my favorites out of the winter collection pack.

Deep copper-ruby color, nice cream colored head that laces nicely down the glass.

Aromas of potpourri - cinnamon, nutmeg, candied fruits and flowers.

Cinnamon, candied citrus rind flavors come through first, followed by caramel maltiness and a roasty-nutty grain flavor. Hoppy edge at the finish.

This is a medium-thin bodied beer, and tends to be slightly rough around the edges of the palate. Spice tends to get a bit tedious towards the end of the beer, but not so much that it detracts from the overall enjoyment.

A decent spiced winter beer, and one of Sam Adams' more interesting seasonals.

A: Pours a dark reddish-brown with a tan head that fades to nice lacing.

S: Aroma of roasted malt, chocolate, spices, primarily cinnamon and a hint of dark fruit.

T: Flavor is a excellent blend of roasted malt, with some caramel, chocolate and spices nicely mixed in. The is a nice bitterness and a clean finish with a hint of lingering spice.

F: Medium body, smooth and creamy. Very well balanced with a nice slow alcohol warming.

O: Great winter warmer, goes well with the festive season.

12 oz. Brown bottle. Freshness date on label.

A: Pours a reddish brown color with a good tan head. Little lacing is created.

S: A potent aroma of spices, including ginger and cinnamon. Some chocolate and citrus can also be found.

T/M: Full bodied and smooth. Great balance, as the malts and spices combine to create a wonderful beer. Hops are not as distinct but present. Nice semi-clean aftertaste with some lingering spices.

O: An excellent brew, with great balance and great taste. I look forward to it each year. It really is one of the best winter brews around and one of Samuel Adams best offerings.
