Poured from 12-ounce bottle into a stemless wine glass. Aggressive pour yielded a three-finger light tan head atop an opaque, deep blackish-brown body. The head left sheets of lacing as it receded to a thin cap. Aromas of dark roasted malts and chocolate, with a hint of dark fruit. The roasted malts impart big flavors of charred espresso bean and dark cocoa, plus enough body for a creamy mouthfeel. Finish is a little sweet, with a bit of lingering charred coffee and fruity tartness on the palate. Overall, a very good to excellent offering.

L-Chestnut brown colored
S-Dark roast and pine on the nose. Nice.
T-A lot of pine and almost a spearmint or herbal impression on the flavor combined with a solid roasty maltiness. Cocoa as well.
F-Medium to light medium bodied...drinks really easy....almost thirst quenching
O-Nice porter with some hop character and a nice roasted maltiness.

A: Very dark but not black. Head dissipates rather quick.
S: Charred and roasted nose with a slightly hoppy nose.
T: Pretty much tastes like the smell. The hops nicely complement the roastiness.
M: A little thin and more carbonation than I like in a porter.
O: Not my favorite porter and a little thin for my taste, but a decent beer for hop heads and dark beer lovers alike.

12oz. bottle served in a nonic. Pours the color and clarity of cola with a loose, tan-colored head that quickly dissipates into a tight band around the shoulders and a soapy swirl across the center. Nose expresses roast and char with the merest hint of cocoa. Taste consistent with nose; however, there's also a slightly oxidized quality as well as a watery character. Finishes with a light, earthy bitterness. Mouthfeel is light in body with a carbonation just shy of carbonation. Overall mouthfeel comes off a bit think and watery for the style. Overall - meh. Pretty lackluster.
