Our Sparkling Ale is the brewers’ take on a rare historic Scottish style. Golden in color and effervescent it combines subtle notes of Noble hops with pale and acidulated malts to create a slightly floral character and a dry finish.

A lightly cloudy golden color. Jazzy appearance with boisterous bubbles and foamy clumpness coverage.
A very bready malted aroma with honey sweetness. Freshly baked bread and a very old-world style hop aromatics of old spice, herbs and grainy earth tones.
The bready malt charecter in the flavor is actually pretty impressive, white bread, herbs and honey sweetness. The old-school style hops provide a strong base of earthy herbs and spicy hop effect.
I would expect a much more light and lively feel from a "Sparkling" ale. Light to medium bodied, medium and slick after the malty texture settles in. The finish is still malty but slightly dry. Just a bit too chewy for this style.
The malt and hop complexity is pretty high, but the feel and longer than normal malty slickness keeps it down. Overall, worth a shot if you like Golden Ale's.

This American blond ale pours a medium golden color with a medium, white foamy head and a fairly large amount of carbonation. This is certainly sparkling and if not for the head it would look quite similar to champagne. The smell is mildly of florals, citrus, and yeast. The taste, like the scent, is of yeast with a little bit of citrus and floral tones. The finish is actually quite bitter and piney. Strangely enough the finish is both dry and also quite creamy. The body is on the light end of medium with some malts that stand up well to hops and yeast. Although this beer is well rounded, it just doesn’t seem to come together properly in my opinion, though that may have to do with my unfamiliarity with this uncommon beer style. Further, it seems a very strange choice for the winter variety pack, which is usually quite good and stocked with more robust beer styles. I think it would be more fitting in the spring variety pack, but honestly I wouldn’t be particularly excited to try it again.
