Samuel Adams Nitro White AleSamuel Adams Nitro White Ale
Notes: White capped and lively – the frothy white head of this distinctive nitro brew softly cascades into bright gold. The first sip reveals a smooth velvety taste with a light wheat character and hints of orange while an undercurrent of peppery spice adds a bright finish.

15 ounce can into imperial pint glass, best before 6/2016. Pours fairly hazy/cloudy deep golden yellow color with a 1-2 finger dense off white head with good retention, that reduces to a nice cap that lasts. Nice dense soapy lacing clings down the glass. Fantastic appearance. Aromas of lemon, orange peel, pear, apple, coriander, pepper, clove, light banana, wheat, cracker, bread, herbal, grass, and yeast earthiness. Nice and pleasant aroma with good balance and complexity of fruity/earthy yeast, spices, and pale malt notes; with solid strength. Taste of lemon, orange peel, pear, apple, coriander, pepper, clove, light banana, wheat, cracker, bread, herbal, grass, and yeast earthiness. Light herbal bitterness and yeast spiciness on the finish; with lingering notes of lemon, orange peel, pear, apple, coriander, pepper, clove, wheat, cracker, bread, and herbal/yeast earthiness on the finish for a good bit. Nice complexity, robustness, and balance of fruity/earthy yeast, spices, and pale malt notes; with a nice malt/yeast/spice balance and zero cloying flavors after the finish. Light carbonation and light-medium body; with a very smooth, silky, fairly creamy/bready, and slightly sticky balanced mouthfeel that is nice. Alcohol is very well hidden with minimal warming present after the finish. Overall this is a nice witbier style. All around good complexity, robustness, and balance of fruity/earthy yeast, spices, and pale malt flavors; and very smooth and easy to drink. Was hoping for a bit more yeast presence; but this still had a solid amount, and was very well balanced with the spice and malt flavors. A nicely enjoyable offering.

Deep, hazy gold brew. The head from the nitro sticks around a bit and leaves a few specks of lacing. The beer is really quite flat after the first few sips. The nose is faint, yeast, coriander and a hint of lemon. There is also a really faint sweetness and grain scents. The taste is subdued with citrus, pepper and yeast. The bitterness seems a bit much and a bit odd. The lack of carbonation is unappealing. This is just not a beer I will seek out again.

Aroma is strong coriander, wheat, spices and funky. The flavor is wheat/malts, spices/coriander, a hint of oats and a mix of funk and earth in the finish.

Hazy amber with a one finger white head, with very good retention and lacing. The aroma is not very strong. There is wheat, orange zest, coriander, and pepper.

Tastes just like it smells. There is a mild sweetness, with some bitterness at the end of each sip. Very refreshing.

Smooth and creamy. Medium bodied with proper carbonation. This is a better beer than I expected, and I might pick this up again. It would be nice on a warm summer day.

Served On-Tap

A — Pours a pure white ball of foam into the glass, it does cascade and settle into a pure clear yellow body of beer with no visible rising bubbles but a pure white head of foam sits on top and leaves behind some okay rings of lacing.

S — Smell is incredibly muted and mellow, not much going on, maybe some light graininess and cereal malts, but not much else.

T — Much like the nose, this is very muted, with just some light grainy notes and a bit of a yeasty tang, really mellow, smooth, and unassuming.

M — Light in body, very smooth on nitro, very monochromatic and borderline watery.

O — OK overall, probably the worst in the new Nitro Can series though.

Can from Bert's
Hazy orange golden color with a dense creamy white head that persists forever. Citrus and spice on the nose with a light peppery yeasty edge to it. Creamy velvety mouthfeel big citrus and spice flavors meld well. Different, but I enjoyed it.

Huge fluffy marshmallow head, slightly cloudy golden body
Not much smell, musty grain. That's about it
Coriander. Banana like esters. Slight grains
Almost no carbonation. Smooth. Silky

One of my now favorite beers on nitro. Excellent

If you are afraid of this because of who makes it, then you are missing out especially if you like the style. This is by no means a bland beer. Its just right. I just wish it had more of a smell to it. But the given smell doesn't detract from the experience.

I don't remember much from this beer. It has a solid taste, but not a beer I want over and over again. It lacks a bigger aroma and taste. You get some orange peel, and some cream like mouth feel. Overall pretty bland.

Samuel Adams Nitro Belgian White - Boston Beer Company (Samuel Adams). Poured from the nitro can into a pint glass(ikr?), this brew's head is one finger thick and very white, with solid lacing, and a hazy golden body.

Smells like faint citrus zest with an even smaller lemongrass&coriander note.

I taste very much of the same components as described above, just very slightly more profound. Its kind of lacking in depth to be honest. I dunno if its because I'm not drinking this out of a Weizen glass (trumpet) or what the deal is. Not bad per se, but nothing life-affirming either.

The mouthfeel I'm picking up is creamy, light, and smooth. I will give the B.B.C. that with this very potentially gimmicky beer.

Overall, I'll give Samuel Adams Nitro Belgian White - Boston Beer Company (Samuel Adams) a 4.25. I probably won't pick this up again since there are so many better Belgian whites out there. This is not to be avoided, but don't expect greatness with this one.

16oz can. Poured out a pale gold color with a huge head of bubbly foam. It smelled of coriander, lemon zest and some yeastiness. It tasted of lemon with some coriander, wheat and spiciness.

The pour itself is worth buying it. Very, very carbonated. Pours a very hazy golden color with a thick creamy head that you have to chew through to get to the brew. Initial taste is creamy, very lightly hoppy with little to no aftertaste. Lacing is outstanding as well. My only disappointment is the flavor, seems kind of bland, doesn't quite have the sweetness of the belgiums I remember, but still a very smooth drinkable beer

Pours a hazy light golden color with a beautiful, creamy pure-white head. No matter the quality or brand, I will always love the look of a nitro beer.

The aroma had a ton of lemon and some floral notes. Very light and not very interesting.

The taste had more lemon and flowers, but it was so light I couldn't really detect a whole lot. Some wheat on the back end added some balance, but overall the flavor was just bland and mediocre. Nothing stood out here.

The feel was light bodied and a bit watery. Somewhat refreshing.

Overall, just a mediocre beer. The flavors and aromas are far too restrained and the mouthfeel was far too light for my liking.

L - Pale orange, cloudy body, two fingers of creamy head

S - Faint orange peel and wet grain

T - Wet hay and straw, barely any citrus, dry wheat, small amount of black pepper on the finish

F - Creamy, but still thin.

O - Its basically a nitro Sam Summer, and we did not need that. Tastes more like a generic macro lager with a nitro widget in the can. Nitro was too gimmicky here and did not enhance the experience. The base beer tasted bland at best, but it still had its moments of being undrinkable (especially as it warmed up).

From the nitro can with an expiration date of Jun 2016. Sampled on February 15, 2016.

The Nitro-infused can pours out an amazingly heady but cloudy pale yellow. The soft, delicate carbonation bubbles settle down fairly fast but linger.

Nice herbal aroma of clove, coriander, and orange zest with those toasted pale malts.

Soft, delicate medium body...again influenced by the Nitro widget.

A pleasant spicy toasted malt character that is soothing to the palate and easy to drink. It looks, smells and tastes like it should. A bit over the top with the Nitro widget but still decent and enjoyable.

Enjoy by 6/2016.

Pours a murky honey orange with a foamy orange-white head that settles to a small cap on top of the beer. A foamy curtain of lace coats the glass on the drink down. Smell is of wheat, dried citrus peel, spice, and yeast aromas. Taste is much the same with dried citrus peel, spice, and earth flavors on the finish. There is a mild amount of bitterness on the palate with each sip. This beer has a smooth, creamy, and medium bodied mouthfeel. Overall, this is a pretty good beer with a nice dried citrus peel presence that sticks out the most in both the smell and taste.

Serving type: can.

It took me a while to get into this one. The first one left me wondering why SA chose a white ale but as I've continued to try it it just seems to be improving. This Nitro seems to work well when paired with food. The appearance is great with the great cascading head. As the head settles you have a cloudy beer with a nice head and great lacing on the drink down. The flavor is a bit muted which, I think, leads to how well it pairs with food. Wonderful mouthfeel. All in all I like it better than most standard white ales.

Samuel Adams Nitro White Ale has a medium, creamy, white nitro head, and a cloudy, gold appearance, with some splotchy lacing left behind. The aroma is of sweet, white wheat bread and subtle spices. The flavor is of white wheat bread, sweetness, almost no bitterness, but a good amount of pepperyness from the grains of paradise (alligator pepper). Mouthfeel is soft and smooth, and Samuel Adams Nitro White Ale finishes semi-dry and mellow.

16 oz nitro-can poured into a Sam Adam’s Perfect Pint glass.

Appearance
Cloudy golden orange with excellent nitro cascading action. Leaves behind 1 finger of tight laced head with great retention.

Nose
Lemon, orange citrus, doughy bread, wheat, and coriander.

Taste
Lemon and orange juice. Doughy bread, wheat, candy sugar, and honey. Bouquet of coriander, lemongrass, and orange zest.

Mouthfeel
Medium-light bodied, ultra-smooth, juicy, and refreshing.

Overall
The nitro works beautifully with a Witbier. A home run for Sam Adams and the Nitro project.

Pours a cloudy orange/white color into my glass with a thin head.

Soft with a touch of coriander upfront.

Not much different from the white ale itself. Coriander and a bit of clove.

Mouthfeel is where this stands out. It has a creamier, softer feel and I find that it makes it more drinkable if not much else.

If you like the white ale itself and want something a little softer, try this. Nitro doesn't work for every style but I find that the mouthfeel is more tolerable.

The beer comes in a medium gold color.

The flavor hits of off lemony flavors, some floral, a wheat base throughout, a gentle bitterness with lingering coriander on the finish and citrus peel, hints of grainy malt. The mouthfeel is soft and creamy.

Super disappointed. The beer looks unpleasant, but is made up for with the pillowy head. I want a literal pillow made of this. Smell is pretty nice. Orangey and beer-like.

The mouthfeel is what gets me. It's flat - a white doesn't seem to stand up well to being put on nitro. Taste is fine, inoffensive, and mild. If it had even a spritz of carb then I'd enjoy this.

On draft at Samuel's in Springfield, Ma.
Is this Cold Snap?
I need info!

Anyhow, it went great with my steak and potatoes....
Very drinkable, and all too smooth.

Very cool tap marker, which, I can tell you as a beer buyer for the restaurant/bar, makes a huge difference.
