12oz bottle into PP glass
BB 2/2018
L-pours a dark black w/ tints of brown, with an inch thick cream colored head
S- clean lager yeast, w/ a subtle hint of coffee
T- initial taste is clean and crisp with not much going on, however there is a nice bitter coffee flavor on the finish
F- medium-bodied, slightly creamy, mostly crisp
Overall this is an ok beer, with a nice crispness to it w/o too much going on.....a session dark beer if you will

Black in color with just a pinch of light getting through at the bottom of the glass. There's a quarter inch of brown on top. The aroma is of caramel and bready malt. I'm tasting a light dose of caramel and honey wheat bread. The aroma implies that there should be more flavor. The mouth is light, crisp, and quaffable.

In the fall variety pack. Pours darkest green with ruby lights. Smells of sweet malt, coffee, chocolate. Bitter coffee taste. Light feel, easy drinking.

Pours a very dark brown/black color with a tan frothy head. Ruby hews when held up to the light. Not much smell to speak of, just sweet. Taste is crisp and sweet then only slightly hoppy with a very mild cocoa/coffee finish. Very drinkable with slight lacing as well. Overall a very good representation of a black lager. With I could find it alone in a 6 here

I got two bottles of this in the Sam Adams 2017 Fall variety pack. Looks dark like a stout. Has a very rich scent of coffee and cocoa. A nice thick earthy taste, yet smooth and easy to drink. Feels warming, and would be a great beer for a cold winter night.

Samuel Adams Black Lager | Boston Beer Company (Samuel Adams). Poured from the bottle into a pint glass, the head on this brew is two fingers thick, spongey, and khaki. With webbed lacing and a non-surprisingly black body.

I smell rich and robust grains with roasted malts.

Tastes like a slight caramel sweetness complimenting the malts very nicely indeed.

Medium mouthfeel with mild carbonation.

4.9% ABV / 19 IBUs

Very dark cola or tea-like color. Fast disappearing head. Not an overly pronounced aroma. Smooth but leaning toward weak. Paired up ok with some pretzels & nuts. It's not a bad beer, but it ain't real exciting either. On it's own without the snacks, I would get tired of it pretty quickly.

Samuel Adams Black Lager brewed by Boston Beer Company (Samuel Adams), with an ABV of 4.90% This Schwarzbier, pours out deep brown color with a nice off white head. This brew looks like coffee, not saying that is a bad thing. The smell is Rich with roasted grains, malts and Sweetness. There is also a nice mild hop bitterness in the smell of this brew. Between the look and smell this is one inviting brew. Now for the taste, it is Bold with roasted flavors, and sweetness. You pick up on the roasted grains and malts along with toasted hops. The sweetness is a nice touch to this brew. There is a lot going on in Samuel Adams Black Lager, I can't get over how smooth this brew goes down. The body of this brew is a solid medium. There is nothing overpowering about this brew, it has a super nice balance to it. For being a dark brew it is really enjoyable. The mouth feel is Roasted, Bold, Smooth, Clean and Refreshing. Overall I'm giving Samuel Adams Black Lager, a 4.50 out of 5. I would definitely look this brew up again giving the opportunity to.Boston Beer Company (Samuel Adams), did a real nice job with this brew. If you are a fan of darker brews , you should look this one up.

Poured from 12 oz bottle into pilsner glass. Poured a clear dark coffee color with milky head. Malty sweetness with a hint of cocoa on the nose. Malt, caramel, with a touch of coffee and cocoa in the taste. Not heavy and a good sipping beer.

Samuel Adams Boston Lager, but a bit darker in flavour and colour. Nothing special, but doesn't ruin anything in my book.
