Appearance - Pours with minimal haziness and is golden yellow in color with a white, two-finger width head. Fair retention, leaving a thin, broken layer of suds across the surface. Fair lacing left on the glass, mostly razor-thin, broken webbing and a few spots here and there.

Smell - Mildly hoppy; floral and slight citrus, with mild salinity.

Taste - Follows the nose. Light notes of floral hop character and a hint of cucumber with a touch of spiciness. Faint saltiness in the finish, but not much here to pick up on.

Mouthfeel - Light-bodied, but low carbonation gives it a bit of sogginess. Finishes easy, as it thins out on the finish.

Overall - Falls within Sam Adams MO, which is to say this is a pretty average brew. Not much salt or tartness, quite frankly. It's got a bit of pleasantness to it, but what's there is distant. This wouldn't keep me from buying the summer variety pack in the future, but it sure wouldn't encourage me to do so, either.

12oz brown bottle, sample from the brewery.

Great looking white lace on top, clear golden hue shines in the light. Prefumey coriander with a hint of cucumber in the nose. Soapy coriander and cucumber flavor, tastes like a Bath & Body Works flavor of the month. A bit too over the top, saltiness doesn't help. Wish there was more balance here. Not horrible but needs some major tweaking.

12oz bottle from the Sam Adams Summer Variety pack. Best before September 2016, which is coming up fast, but maybe Sam Adams shouldn't put their summer shit out in February, but hey that's just me. Pours dark gold, slight haze, not much head but some spotty lacing.

Not much in the aroma department, some mineral water, bread dough, slight sweetness. Flavor starts sweet and tart, hints of coriander, vegetal cucumber in the end. Finishes with a bit of herbal and earthy bitterness. Saltiness in the very back.

Slightly below average craft Gose. The addition of cucumber isn't winning me over but isn't turning me off. I like Otra Vez better, for sure.

It's more gose-like that the 26.2 brew, but I'd like a little more lactic. The coriander is a touch heavy, but the cucumber works well, rolling in late in the flavor before the salty finish. The aroma is nice and doughy, and the body is a bit lighter than Sam Summer (I'd prefer this). Overall, a decent hot-weather beer.

Poured from a 12 OZ bottle into a pint glass. The appearance is a golden color with a small white head. The aroma is salty grains. The taste is an unusual salty yet light citrus offering.

Poured from brown bottle into nonic glass. Label use-by date Aug 2016.

I've had this beer sitting in my fridge for several days working up the nerve to try it. My hesitation is caused by the fact that I detest the taste of raw cucumbers, and according to the label this beer is made "with cucumber added." I was ready to pour it out after one sip if it really tasted much like cukes. So here's the review....

Color was gold to light gold. Moderate carbonation, small bubbles, light white head that was a little durable. Nose: a predominantly waxy aspect, with some mild floral notes. Unexpectedly attractive. Taste: light and malty, some mild lemony flavor but it's not strongly citrusy or acidic -- more like lemon pie, but not so sweet. The salty taste I expected is not strong... and neither is the cucumber. Some thin hops in the taste but they are mild and well-behaved. In fact I'm amazed to find that I like this, despite disliking cucumbers pretty strongly. I do like Saaz hops, which according to the label is what this contains, so that fits. Mouthfeel: clean and fresh at first, leaving a slight feeling of numbness, perhaps, but not in a hot-pepper sort of way. Unlike anything I've had before.

Got To Gose brewed by Boston Beer Company (Samuel Adams). This brew has an ABV of 4.80% This brew pours out a nice golden amber color with a nice thick white head. This Gose brew has a real nice look to it. The smell of Got To Gose is rich with grains , malts, and hops. There is a nice sweetness in the smell of this brew. 12oz bottle poured into a tulip
Drink by September 2016

A- pours a bright clear golden color with a small foamy white head that has good retention and leaves some lacing beind

S- smells of coriander, minerals, spicy/grassy hops, faint cucumber & toasted malt

T- clean up front with light notes of coriander and surprising prominent cucumber. The finish brings faint grassy hops and toasted malt, clean linger with more cucumber

M- light body with medium carbonation leads to a creamy mouthfeel that continues into the finish, duper drinkable

O- pretty refreshing beer with the cucumber coming out more than I expected, however it's hard to call this a gose. No tartness at all and the mineral/salt is barely detectable
