Black color. White head, not too thick but probably the thickest of all their Winter Classic beers. Slight chocolate aroma. Full-bodied stout with a lacey feel to it. Not a whole lot of flavor, though, a bit disappointing in that department.

Not having too many oatmeal stouts, I really had nothing to compare this to however, I did enjoy it.

Poured a dark, almost transparent brown with a very thin head that dissipated quickly. Thinner mouthfeel that I had anticipated. Taste was good, but not great. Would no go out of my way to seek out, but wouldn't turn it down, if offered.

This one pours a fairly dark brown, with a small white, and not much lacing.

This smells like chocolate, oats, and light roast. It doesn't smell particularly punchy.

This is definitely drinkable, but it's quite boring and watery. There's mostly chocolate and roast, with a creamy finish.

This is light bodied, but the flavor just falls off at the finish.

This is worth a try if you don't have to pay for it.

12oz bottle bb April 2018 poured into a perfect pint glass at fridge temp 5.5% ABV 25 IBU. The beer pours dense black with mocha brown head.
Retention and lacing are above average. Aroma is almost nothing at fridge temp. It starts to give a little roast malt smell as it warms. The taste is roasty yet smooth. Mouthfeel is medium bodied, adequately carbonated and undry in the finish. Overall, a good oatmeal stout, but nothing to go crazy for. This might be the most absolutely average beer to style I've ever had.

Beer pours a clear coffee color with a small light head that dissipates quickly. Not a lot to the smell or taste. It has hints of cocoa, chocolate and roasted malts but it's all watered down kind of like a stout light. There are a ton of stouts out there that are much better.

Poured from a 12 oz bottle.

Look - coffee brown, two to three finger head that dissipates quickly leaving. some lacing
Smell - nice roasted malt flavor, fragrant coffee and a hint of sweetness.
Taste - slightly bitter, and coffee flavor dominates in taste. because of the somewhat high carbonation, not as smooth as I imagined
Feel - medium to full body. high carbonation, low ABV.
Overall - this stout was not as hearty as advertised, and the mouthfeel was just not was I was expecting from an oatmeal stout. it's not bad, but it's not great either.

A good offering out of the latest variety pack form SA I have come across...

I have this love-hate relationship with oatmeal stouts. In theory, I should love them all, but somehow, there are some instances that I just don't think are good. This one from SA, however, I did enjoy. Darkly colored with light foam and no lacing, it offers a deep chocolaty smell that blends well with the roasted malts. This transfers over to the taste at about the same liking, though I felt like I tasted some coffee notes. Mouthfeel was light-bodied leaning toward medium and lightly carbonated (like I like it.) Overall, I rated it good - a solid oatmeal stout I would (and will) reach for again.

S: Chocolate malt, oats, hints of caramel.
T: Mostly sweet chocolate with a bit of bitterness. Not much oatmeal coming through.
F: Medium body with light carbonation.
O: A decent stout but it was surprisingly bitter.
