Poured out a fairly clear gold with lots of carbonation and just over a finger of soapy head that was bone colored in appearance. As the beer went into my tummy there was plenty of nice lacing on the glass.

The smell was a punch of citrus and tropical fruit. Also picking up a lot of the piney hops like in the regular Rebel.

The taste followed the nose pretty closely with some mango and other tropical fruit flavors. There is also the piney hops present as well. The fruit does feel a bit artificial but is not over the top so I am a bit on the fence on this addition.

The mouth was a bit complex. Seemed to border on medium with a somewhat crisp finish with the bitterness of the hops but still getting a wet finish, perhaps thanks to the juice additions?

Overall I really find this to be solid addition to the Rebel family of IPA's. For those that like the original Rebel this juiced variety will go one of two ways, either you will or will not like it. For those who want a juicy IPA this one should fit the bill nicely.

A. Clear golden color, consistent lacing.
S. Mainly mangoe. Defined fruity smell.
T. Mango taste, low bitterness.
M. Flat beer, fresh. Medium body
O. Not a srong IPA at all. I was expecting more taste and bitterness, bitterness too low, and confused me a little bit about the IPA meaning!. Beer could be OK for summer times, the problem is the ABV content.... take care!!!

12 oz can..June 2017 on the bottom..."best before dating"?

Pours darn near clear, lifting a flufy and frothy egg shell cap, lasting nicely, leaves a load of thicker lace all over the glass.

Resiny and fruit juicy nose

Respectable IPA, with more hop resins, more fruit juicy sweetness and with some bready malts trying to make a statement late...nothing special..but respectable and quite drinkable...

Pours clear, dark gold in color with ΒΌ inch head. Taste is big ruby grapefruit, with light mango juice. Medium bodied, slightly sweet with moderate carbonation. Perhaps the most juice forward Sam Adams beer I have had. Tasty, but not quite at the level of other New England style IPAs. Probably the Rebel I would go to, and worth a shot.

Poured from a can into a pint glass.

Appearance: Golden colored with a thick white head.

Smell: Fruity citrus notes and hops.

Mouthfeel/Taste: Smooth medium bodied. Taste of fruit juice, like fruit punch with a kick of bitter hops.

Overall: Unexpectedly good IPA. I would have this one again.

12oz can, part of the mixed Rebel IPA pack to recently arrive up here in Alberta.

This beer pours a clear, bright medium golden yellow colour, with three fingers of puffy, loosely foamy, and somewhat bubbly off-white head, which leaves some decent scattered sudsy lace around the glass as it lazily sinks away.

It smells of mango and orange juice smoothies, grainy and bready pale malt, and a bit of leafy, weedy, and piney green hop bitters. The taste is bitter muddled citrus, still prominent fleshy mango, semi-sweet bready and doughy caramel malt, a hint of earthy yeastiness, and more herbal, floral, and wet piney verdant hoppiness.

The carbonation is adequate in its merely structurally supportive frothiness, the body a solid middleweight, and generally smooth, with a nice airy creaminess essentially present from the onset. It finishes well off-dry, the mango and citrus fruity character really showing some lingering chutzpah.

Overall, this comes off much less like an IPA, than as a very fruit-forward ale, as the bitterness of the hops is quite tamped down. That said, it is pretty tasty, especially if you like mangoes and oranges, and a fair bit of sweetness in yer brew - yeah, I can dig it, but one of these is enough for me.

Boston Beer Company "Rebel Juiced IPA"
12 fl. oz. brown glass bottle, notched May 2017 and sampled on 21 February 2017
$2 @ Wegmans, Collegeville, PA

Notes via stream of consciousness: The Boston Beer Company now produces at least 7 "Rebel" beers under the Samuel Adams name. Maybe they should have just started a separate Rebel line of beers. To top it off, all of the labels have a fairly similar look. Anyway... this is one of my favorites. The mango juice really comes through in both the aroma and the flavor, and although there's still some strength and bitterness to it it's also sweetish, really easy to drink, and very much a fruit beer - a steroid bolstered fruit beer, but a fruit beer nonetheless. Oh, I should also note before I forget, I like the notched label, that's so retro. It's got a great appearance with a clear golden/amber body beneath a foamy white head, and very good head retention and lacing. It's medium bodied and gently crisp-then-smooth in the mouth. The mango juice is sugary but it also adds a slight hint of acidity that gives the beer an overall edge, and then helps to clean up the malt in the finish. Other flavor notes: lychee, subtle pineapple, orange, papaya, background grapefruit. I'm looking forward to getting out into the sun this summer, and I'll bring a few of these with me. Perfect for the beach, a fishing trip out on the sea, easy hiking/camping, backyard BBQ, etc.

Crystal clear, apple juice-colored brew; small head with OK retention.

Aroma features pine, mango, apricot, and pineapple.

It translates artificial on the palate, like mango syrup or gummy candy vaguely fruit flavored. Slight acidic bite; nicely balanced bitterness. A touch of pine resin.

Oily but lively feel.

I felt this was an OK beer overall, with a artificial fruit flavor that just wasn't for me. However, as the glass got emptier, the beer became more and more of a chore to drink. For someone else, maybe that flavor profile will be more toward their liking. Not so much for me.

12oz can into a pint glass. The nose is bright citrusy hops and mango for a very tropical aroma. The taste again is high on the tropical fruit with a moderate hop bitterness in the finish. This is definitely a refreshing IPA that I could see myself drinking outside tailgating or at the beach.
