**REVIEW NUMBER 1,200**
:and:
**BEER ADVOCATE BEER NUMBER 1,829**

Reviewed from notes. 2015 vintage. Poured from the strangely shaped albeit fancy bottle into a Florida Berliner Bash snifter.

A: Caramel brown and quite clear, with absolutely no visible carbonation or head formation. This has actual legs when the glass is turned.

S: Caramel and alcohol fusel notes, oak and pencil shavings, vanilla and brown sugar. Bourbon-soaked goodness. The heat singes the nostrils a little bit. A leathery dryness on the back end with a syrupy sweet chaser.

T: Caramel and bourbon. Oak with toffee. Vanilla mixes with brown sugar. Malty sweetness with an almost maple syrup stickiness. Then more oak and leather. A mild cinnamon-like burn with a big spicy note. Very dry tannins dominate the finish with significant alcohol heat.

M: A lighter body than I expected – it's sticky but not thick. Obviously no carbonation sensation. Quite warming during the drink but for what I expected going in, the alcohol presence isn't over the top.

O: I don't know how to rate this. What do you compare it to? What style guidelines do you put it in? I don't think any apply in either case. It's insanely complex, and like many have pointed out it has more in common with a port or bourbon than a beer. Either way, I really like it. An after-dinner aperitif or whatever you call it. But an experience that's a "must" for any craft beer drinker.

No head at all, a dark murky look to it. I enjoyed the taste but it was like drinking whiskey more then beer.
I'm glad I tried this at a share, I would be a little upset if I dropped that price on this.
