Nice golden color. Decent white head and sticky lacing.

On the sweet side, taste-wise. Seems a bit to me like a lemon-lime soda. Easy drinking for 6%.

I'm not sure that I know what Yuzu is, or that I could identify it by taste of smell. So, this brew is both interesting and unfamiliar. The appearance is of a light, golden complexion. The head is slim and white. The aroma is full of fruit, tropical and unusual. Pungent and citrus-filled. The taste is balanced, with a little fruit and bitterness to balance. Medium in boy and interesting, but not extraordinary.

Appearance: Pours out a clear, golden body with a 3/4-inch head of fleeting, white foam.

Smell: Fruity touches from a stick of, well, fruit-flavored gum swathed in some soft wheatiness. Slight spiciness from the alligator pepper. All in all, though, it's a bit of a weakly scented aroma.

Taste: Lightly grainy base maltiness with some crisped golden wheat. Middling sweetness. It's lightly fruity, slightly citrusy and tempered with some soft Noble hop spiciness and just a bit of GoP, though, as with the nose, everything from the fruit addition to the spice is all really, really mild. Muted touches of fruit and spice and wheat on the finish.

Mouthfeel: Medium-light body. Medium carbonation.

Overall: Zzzz. No, they didn't need to go over-the-top super-bold with this one, but it's just waaay too bland.

Raise your hand if you know off the top of your head what Yuzu tastes like...

I thought so.

Yeah, I don't know either. One of the beers from this year's Sierra Nevada Beer Camp Pack had Yuzu in it as well so it's nice to see that brewers are embracing new ingredients and flavors into their beers. This tasted quite herbal and floral but wasn't so offsetting that I felt like I had to chuck it down.

The pour to this was decent as the beer had the appearance of a European Light Lager. Thankfully, there was no "skunk" to the smell as some light passion fruit, pilsener malt, lavender, chamomile, and the like could be found here. Light and floral, there was a bit more heft to the taste as the Yuzu kicked in, along with mild stone fruit, resin slickness, and a bit of burn. Was that agave I felt or a floral presence that I couldn't quite pinpoint? Either way, this was unique as that factor few me in and left me with a mild burn that had me wanting more...until I emptied the bottle out.

Having a December notch on the side of the bottle, a very mild warming effect could be detected once I finished it's contents off. This grew on me as it warmed up and had me wondering why more offerings here in America don't feature Yuzu. It's tasty, a bit dark and mysterious, and not unlike anything found in these parts. A low herbal and spicy mouthfeel allowed it to shine through, much to my delight!

Poured a clear, golden orange color with a small, white head of foam. It smelled of tropical fruits. I'd say it smelled like Yuzu, but I don't know what that is. It was light, crisp and refreshing with tropical fruit sweetness.

Poured out of a 12 oz bottle into one of my pint glasses, this beer pours a fairly cloudy/hazy light to medium golden color with a white head that's about 1/2 to 2/3 of an inch thick when first poured that settles to pretty quickly to a fairly thick surface coating of a film layer of foam and a medium sized ring lining the inside of the glass. Decent lacing here. Aromas of somewhat biscuity, lightly toasted caramel malt sweetness along with a bit of clove, peppery spice and a hint of lime. The taste is pretty much the same, with a biscuit, slightly toasted, caramel malt sweetness that gives way to some clove and peppercorn notes along with a citrus lime note that adds a slight funky tartness. Has a fairly crisp, somewhat smooth, medium bodied mouthfeel with moderate carbonation. Has a somewhat dry aftertaste with a clean finish. An interesting offering here.

Pours a golden straw color with an orange hue. The tight white head is small and settles into a sparse cap.

The aroma is sweet and fruity. Some candied orange notes, pineapple juice and a grassy/grapefruit scent.

The taste is of a sweet tropical fruit that has a lime follow through. I presume this is the yuzu. Kind of a mixture of orange and blood orange followed by the lime. Unique. The malt is bready with slight honey notes. Slight grass and pepper in the finish.

The feel is light to moderate with fizzy carbonation. Sweet on the palate but finishes limey dry.

Not a huge fan of juice added brews but this was unique. Drinks well.

Pours a hazy gold color. 1/3 inch head of an off-white color. Slight retention and slight lacing. Smells of wheat, pale malt, citrus, hint of hops, and sweet malt. Fits the style of an Herbed / Spiced Beer. Mouth feel is sharp and clean, with an average carbonation level. Tastes of wheat, floral, pineapple, pale malt, slight sweet malt, and a hint of hops. Overall, weak appearance, decent aroma, and the blend is not well executed.

DATE: July 21, 2017... OCCASION: easy Friday evening with the family... GLASSWARE: Stoudt's pint (autographed by Carol herself)... pours a transparent golden amber body that houses an army of barnacle-like bubbles producing a head that is off-white, bubbly in itself, and dissipating to a thin mustache-like ring... pineapple, mango, orange peel, and (I guess?) some yuzu...at this point, I have to trust the label, right? haven't seen this available in Shop Rite... although plenty fresh, the beer's appearance is a sallow, slightly unsavory yellow... floral hints like sandalwood detectable... immediately fizzy at the lips and invigorating at the tongue, with enough tooth rattle to suggest an earnest amount of hops, despite its relatively low 20 IBUs... equal parts bitter and sour, with the yuzu making a lime-like pucker above the cracker malt backdrop... a rush at the throat coats and leaves a lasting impression, equal parts syrup and sugar... not really a fan of this, though I will not judge the fruit by this representation... as far as the summer mix is concerned, I do not see this one returning...

Pours clear, amber in color with 1/4 inch head. Taste is fruity--I get lily, passionfruit, and agave with pale malt. I suspect that the combination is what a yuzu tastes like. The fruit taste is different from what I have had in other beers. Slightly bitter, light bodied, with moderate carbonation. Makes for a slightly above average, tropical beer. Not bad and certainly goes down easy enough, but also not interesting enough to make me want to grab a six if it came in six packs.

From the 12 fl. oz. bottle wit an expiration date of September 2017. Sampled on May 13, 2017.

Yellow pour with a tremendous foamy white head and bubbly carbonation leading up that.

Fascinating tropical fruit character in the aroma and juiciness. Maybe some lemon-lime but it does not present itself as sour or tart - more like lemonade,

Light to medium body.

The taste brings out some mild white bread notes but a vaster amount of lemon-line fruitiness. It is entirely refreshing.

8/3...pours bright gold, no foam. Light fruity nose, wheaty. Almost waxy. Lime based malt, must be the yuzu. Certainly sour, but held in check. Soft fruitiness throughout. Subtle bitter, very interesting.

Bottle into a teku appears clear golden yellow with a white soapy head that fades leaving a full wall of lace.

Aroma is strangely spicy almost like chia tea with a fruit addition.

Taste is the same, almost cola-like with a lingering pithy bitterness.

Medium in body with modest carbonation. I have no idea what they were going for here but it doesnt work. I dont need to have this again.

Easy to drink but in all honesty kind of bland and flavorless. It boasts spices and the flavor of the Yuzu fruit...but half a pint in and i literally taste nothing. Its almost like drinking a light beer. Maybe i just got a bad bottle out of the sampler pack i bought. So far not impressed.
