Notes: Kellerbiers originated in German cellars when brewers couldn’t wait to taste the fruits of their labors, so they tapped young beers straight from barrels. Our version ages on oak chips for a refreshing juxtaposition of light unfiltered malts with an intriguing woodsy note.

“Hazy with herbal hoppiness.” The herbal nature is tasty. Bitter undertone, making it a flavorful, mature kind of beer. I like the drawing of Delicate Arch from Arches National Park on the label. In closing, good taste in the front, bitter and less good in the after. 2018/02/27

Pours clear deep mahogany producing 3+ fingers of foamy, lasting, tan head that diminishes to a pillowy dense island cap and heavy collar, leaving clumpy rings and webs of lacing. Excellent presentation. Out of character with the style this has noticeably good clarity for what should be an unfiltered style. Aroma is toasted/roasted lager malt classic Sam Adams lager yeast, clean bready grain, thin oak wood, caramel & fruity. Taste is toasted brown bread, sodacracker, a hint of grain, thin caramel, vanilla/oak, floral, herbal hops, peppery finish and a lingering bitterness. Crisp and dry with little sweetness. Mouthfeel is medium bodied with moderate-high carbonation, crisp and dry with a peppery prickle and a thinly astringent aftertaste.

It isn't no M43, but this is better than the Sam Adams NEIPA. Dark orange pour, bordering on copper, under a nice enough khaki head. Malty aroma, pale malt doughiness, a hint of caramel, just a wisp of oak and grass, mild spice. Malty flavor, caramel, bread, a hint of biscuit and caramel, a touch of oak and spice.

5/28/18....hazy but amber copper based. White foam bubbles on top. Soft wheaty nose, some citrus and spices. Hard to draw out though. Wheat open with a quick peppercorn twist. Herb-y. Leafy, almost like a black tea back. Twists the style nicely.

Picked this up as part of a seasonal 12-pack for $14.99 at TW Arrowhead in March. Best by May 2018.

Beer poured cloudy brown with a nice white head that has some great hang time and is leaving lacing behind.

Nose has hints of bread and caramel sweetness.

Taste follows the nose. Caramel malts provide a sweet backbone that is very bready with a touch of sourdough. Herbal hops balance the sweetness nicely.

Mouthfeel is medium bodied and smooth.

Overall i really enjoyed this brew. Very flavorful, reminds me of a smaller version of a doppelbock. Recommended!

Samuel Adams Kellerbier has a very thick, creamy, ivory head, a somewhat hazy, bubbly, copper appearance, with orange sediment chunks and a descending cloud, following the "swish & pour". Aroma is of brown bread crust and a pungent note. Taste is similar, with hearty bitterness. Mouthfeel is high medium, and Kellerbier finishes dirty and fun.

12oz bottle best before June 2018
1" off white pillow-y head with good retention on top of a orange/amber slightly hazy beer. Great lacing.
Nutty malt and spicy hops. Caramel, floral notes. Very appealing.
Malty with the same nutty caramel flavors as in the aroma. Pleasant bittering hops in the finish.
Medium to full body. Round mouthfeel. Low to medium carbonation. Sweet and bitter in the finish but never gets overdone on either side.
Full of flavor, maybe one of the better Sam Adams beers I've had in a while and the best of the Variety 12pk it was packed in.

-pint.
A: Dark sunset glow orange lights up the vessel with an abundance of macro-carbonation bubbles sticking to the vessel walls. Dirty white head has a small initial stance before lapsing to a scant and soapy, bubbly topping. Really like the glowing orange coloring when back-lighted.

S: Faint lemon-barley stalks, dry hints of yeastiness. Soft aroma, with small indications of sugar fruitiness.

T: Sweet toasted fruitiness for flavor, citrus and spicy hops bring a nice zing and spring feeling. White grapes, sweet toasted grains, with some apple-floral notes. Sweet oaky caramel backing finishes with a dry herbal feel on longer holds.

M: Spritzy carbonation brings the mouthful to life. Sweet and thick juicy caramel texture with a dry finish.

O: A nice malt base beer, sugar toasted caramel fruitiness and sweetness. Herbal and floral hopping brings a nice mixture and depth per style which is fairly aggressive. Easy drinking summer fun beer.

Pours a hazy copper color. 1/2 inch head of an off-white color. Good retention and great lacing. Smells of pale malt, tea, slight citrus hops, floral hops, slight sweet malt, and a hint of lemongrass. Fits the style of a Kellerbier/Zwickelbier. Mouth feel is sharp and clean, with an average carbonation level. There is an elevated dryness. Tastes of pale malt, tea, slight citrus hops, floral hops, slight sweet malt, hint of bread dough, hint of mustiness, and a hint of lemongrass. Overall, good appearance, aroma, blend, body, and complexity.

Faintly hazy, dark amber body; thick, sculpted head. Nice grainy, caramel-forward aroma. Nice toasted grain flavor; a bit bitter; dull, fruity component. Medium body; dry with a touch of astringency.

A decent amber colored beer presenting a light malt touch with a hint of raw wood to things.

My first kellerbier so I have nothing to compare it to. Part of the Sam Adams Lager Variety Pack (best by 4/18).

Poured from a 12 oz. bottle into a perfect pint glass. Golden amber color with a 1 finger head. Very slight, bready aroma and not much else. Taste is of a bready, buttered biscuit nature with nice lacing on the glass. Little to no bitterness while drinking or at the finish.

Overall, was pleased with how this beer tasted and would drink it again.

Pours into a mug a slightly hazed copper/bronze with a large fluffy white crown atop that sticks nicely as it settles.Muted aromas with a crisp cracker note along with an iron tinge.A mellow flavor profile with a good amount of bready malts and light spicy hop finish,on the dryer side with mild honey tones in the finish wich become more prevalent as I drink more but never gets 'sweet'.A decent rendition of the style,a mellow easy drinking beer, would have like a bit more haze and rawness though.

12 ounce bottle into perfect pint glass, best before 6/2018. Pours slightly hazy deep golden amber/light orange color with a 2 finger dense and rocky off white head with amazing retention, that reduces to a large cap that lasts. Thick soapy lacing clings on the glass, with a moderate amount of streaming carbonation retaining the cap. Fantastic appearance. Aromas of big cracker, bread dough/crust, toasted biscuit, light nuttiness/pepper, and herbal/grassy earthiness. Damn nice aromas with great complexity of bready malt and light-moderate earthy hop notes; with great strength. Taste of big cracker, bread dough/crust, toasted biscuit, light nuttiness/pepper, and herbal/grassy earthiness. Light-moderate herbal, grassy, peppery bitterness on the finish. Lingering notes of cracker, bread dough/crust, toasted biscuit, nuttiness, pepper, and herbal/grassy earthiness on the finish for a while. Great complexity, robustness, and balance of bready malt and light-moderate earthy hop flavors; with a great malt/bitterness balance, and zero cloying/astringent flavors after the finish. Light-moderate increasing dryness from lingering bitterness. Perfectly clean on lager flavors, no fruity/yeasty notes. Medium carbonation and medium-plus body; with a very smooth, creamy/bready/grainy, and fairly sticky mouthfeel that is great. Zero warming alcohol as expected of 5%. Overall this is an excellent amber kellerbier! All around great complexity, robustness, and balance of bready malt and light-moderate earthy hop flavors; very smooth and refreshing to drink with the mellowly bitter/drying finish. Very clean and rich Pale/Munich malt flavors, with solid earthy hop presence. A very enjoyable offering, and spot on style example. Would not mind this going to 6 packs.

Samuel Adams Kellerbier brewed by Boston Beer Company (Samuel Adams), with an ABV of 5.00% This Kellerbier pours out a nice light brown copper color with a small white head. Really digging the color of this brew. There is also a nice amount of spotty lacing to this brew, it sticks to the side of the glass well. The smell is rich with sweetness, roasted grains and malts. You also pick up on some nice mild hop bitterness in the smell as well. Between the look and smell this is one inviting brew. Now for the taste, it is bold but smooth with flavors. You first pick up on mild roasted hops, malts, and grains. There is a lot going on in this brew. The body of Samuel Adams Kellerbier is a solid medium. There is nothing overpowering about this brew, it has a super nice balance to it. This brew would go nice with lunch or dinner. I can't get over how smooth this brew goes down. The mouth feel is Bold, Crisp, Clean, Smooth and Refreshing. Overall I'm going to give Samuel Adams Kellerbier a 4.25 out of 5. I would definitely look this brew up again giving the opportunity to. Boston Beer Company (Samuel Adams), did a real nice job with this brew.

12oz. bottle served in a pilsner glass. Pours a hazy copper hue with a tight, half inch, cream-colored head. Nose is fairly subdued - some floral hops, biscuit notes and perhaps a hint of caramel malt. Taste consistent with nose. Mouthfeel is light in body with an assertive carbonation that leaves a residual prickle across the tongue between quaffs. All and all fairly lackluster. Reminders me of an earthier version of Boston Lager.
