Quite a most interesting pale ale with coffee flavor...

If you like coffee, you will like this beer, if you love coffee, you will love this beer. The coloration was something I found to be unique, it had this appealing brownish/caramelish color with a decent top of foam. I really enjoyed the smell as it wasn't the normal, overpowering scent of coffee, probably the best scented coffee ale I've had. Mouthfeel is a muted feel of carbonation but still smooth and then we get to the taste. The thing that gets me with this beer is how polar opposite the taste of coffee is compared to the smell. The smell is light and just right, but the taste is full-bodied, full-in-your-face-black-coffee-type taste. And unfortunately, I'm just not much of a black coffee drinker, so this doesn't really appeal to me, but I can see where others would guzzle this stuff. Overall, this is a good coffee ale and one worth one's time of giving it a shot.

12 oz bottle in Florida.
Pours with a hazy copper colored body and a very durable beige head.
This is just as one should expect: a mix of modestly hoppy pale ale with a near equal strength coffee.
The blend is not perfectly harmonious, nor are the coffee flavors optimal. Nonetheless, this is a solid, recommended coffee ale.

DATE: October 25, 2018... OCCASION: early night due to the dark means earlier Thirsty Thursday... GLASSWARE: Stoudts pint... pours a nice medium brown amber body, alive with bubbles that craft a half-finger off-white head equal parts cream and suds... its lacing is is modest but appropriate... roasted coffee is palpable, with light caramel, lactic sugars, wet vegetable, and hints of lemon and tea... the mouthfeel is standard brown ale with a smooth movement to its throat.... its graininess is understated, yet pleasant enough... the flavor profile is soft on coffee, light on citrus, and mild on roasted malts... sweet, slightly dank, and agreeable to an extent... medium-bodied but lacking in creaminess or intensity, though this works as a sessionable ale with enough flavor to be engaging... would I buy as a six-pack stand-alone? probably not...but as a mix case contributor, this will work...

Was not too happy with this coffee ale. Had a semi-decent nose on it and that was the best part. The coffee seemed bitter and off flavored, almost chemical. Some malt to it and a little smoke/char. Overall it was a letdown, everything seemed off with this beer.

I tried this at my old neighbor house in The 'Wego. It poured a clear amber with no head and no lace. The scent was coffee based. The taste was nicely balanced and easy to drink with coffee flare. The mouthfeel was lighter in body with good carbonation. Overall it is a decent beer.

Pours an effervescent amber with a tumb+ of pearl colored head. Average head retention & lacing

S: Faint coffee & bready notes

T: Coffee, breadyness, alittle grassyness & dryness too up front. Coffee builds as this warms, a little creamy swwetness (butterscotch ), plus more dryness. Finishes dry with a little herbal hops & coffee

MF: Medium body, crisp carbonation

Easy to drink, the light coffee beers aren't usually my thing, but this one I like

Pours a golden brown color with a wispy beige head.

The aroma is of light coffee and perhaps some toffee notes.

The taste is of light coffee. Kind of like an instant coffee though, not fresh. The malt is bready with some light toffee notes.

The feel is moderate with fizzy carbonation. Sweet on the palate with a touch of sour and bitter from the coffee. Drinks easy.

A sub average coffee brew. There is a coffee flavor but almost tastes artificial.

I taste some coffee notes, not too strong, but they’re there. Otherwise a decent, but unremarkable pale ale.

It poured a hazy cooper with a small head. The smell is coffee, coffee, and more coffee. The taste is heavy coffee to start with then evans out in to a mellow sweetness. The feel is medium to light, not heavy like most coffee porters. Overall a really nice easy drinking coffee beer.

Samuel Adams Coffee Pale Ale has a medium, ivory head, a clear, somewhat bubbly, tan appearance, and minimal glass lacing. Aroma is of gourmet coffee and a touch of fruit. Taste is of medium-roast coffee, some cream, fruit, and pale malt. There is a hint of bitterness. Mouthfeel is light, and Coffee Pale Ale finishes medium wet/dry.
