Meh. A lot like an amber or Oktoberfest with some pumpkin spice. Pretty average.

This beer pours a dark brown with a small but sustaining head. The aroma features big sweet notes of banana bread, with nutmeg, clove, and cinnamon. The flavor is less directly sweet, in fact there is a touch of acidity, like underripe banana and pear, followed by muted clove and cinnamon, and just a touch of cooked squash. The mouthfeel is quite light, with just a touch of sweetness, and moderate carbonation. Overall, a drinkable beer, but not much else to say for it - rather dull, with only okay flavor.

Poured into a grip shaped goblet: color is dark amber, head is light tan with fine bubbles and presents quite deep of the initial pour then settles to thin top, light effervescence lingers.

Smell is light pumpkin spice blend, some light toasted malt with hints of caramel and biscuits and graham crackers.

Taste is similar with neutral pumpkin spice blend, cinnamon slightly dominates, malts are toasted, light caramel, some bready or biscuit like notes. Pumpkin meat flavor is limited.

Mouthfeel is a bit sharp, drying and it seems to stem from the spicing, maybe as near end of the boil addition.

Overall its a functional pumpkin ale but it just seems to be a slightly malt amber ale with neutral spice addition with limited actual pumpkin presence.

The Sam Adams version of a pumpkin beer, not bad a'tall...

I really liked the coloration - dark caramel but with a very quickly dissipating head and no lacing to mention. The smell was muted pumpkin which translated similarly but with a tad more flavor to the actual taste. Mouthfeel was light- to medium-bodied with carbonation with a touch of astringent feeling to the tongue as a chaser. Overall, this is still really good, sessionable, and just left me feeling good to have partaken from this SA offering.

LOOKS: A clear dark red to dark amber, with a finger + of tan head that sticks around. Thick lacing down the glass.
AROMA: Cinnamon, nutmeg, cloves, etc....and a little gingerbread cookie.
TASTE: Lots of gingerbread cookie, doughy, and all the spices.
FEEL: Well carbonated, dry, medium-ish body.
OA: Not bad, tastes like a big holiday cookie. One and done, though, because it's quite sweet.

Poured a deep amber color in a frozen glass. Nice mild sweet aroma. Crispy carbonation. Tasted sweet with some mild cinnamon and vanilla notes. Very good. I would buy it as a 6 pack.

Clear dark amber with a light tan head; No hint of pumpkin in the aroma, smells like beer; smooth and moderately carbonated; Has a mildly fruity favor, a little funky; This came in a twelve-pack sampler of six flavors. I never would have picked pumpkin flavored beer, so I was a little skeptical when I opened this one. I was pleasantly surprised. It doesn't taste like pumpkins. It's really not bad at all.
