I poured this 12 oz. bottle into a nonic pint glass. Best by May, 2011.

A: clear medium red/orange-amber, an aggressive pour produced a nice three-finger head, it maintains a nice light tan cap and good lacing.

S: molasses-soaked whole-grain bread dough, light fruity esters, a bit of earthy funk, a hint of caramel.

T: all of the aromas come through in the taste, but there is a definite lack of depth to this beer, especially up front and in the finish, the hop presence is subdued and fruity/earthy.

M: light to medium-bodied, watery to faintly silky texture, moderate carbonation, but the finish is lacking.

D: while not bad, I believe BBC phoned this beer in. Still, BBC rarely misfires when it comes to the look of a beer.

Poured hazy dark copper,1 finger head that disipated to a creamy thin collar which left broken lace all the way down.
Smell is rather vague,sweet aroma.
Buttery toffee flavor, with some mild hopping.
Mouthfeel is bubbly crisp and a bit tangy.
All in all not bad, nothing exceptional, but great drinkability!..worth a try...

This beer pours a deep red color, duh. The head is light tan and frothy, but small, less than one finger. The smell is a medium malt character that's on the toasty side. A bit of bitterness as well.

Glug glug glug

It tastes good. The malt goes from toasty to bitter on the end, and after that it's kind of grassy and sweet. Tasty and full bodied and balanced, a great Irish Red.

Picked this up in a Brewmasters Collection pack. What an unexpectedly awesome treat this one was.

A: Deep, clear amber. Beautiful with a thin, persistent foam head.

S: Nothing too special, caramel, a little malty funk, hops.

T: Nice tingle on the lips followed by a deliciously refreshing and cool caramel with malt. Finishes neat and wet. I want more.

Drinkability: I'm wishing the six pack was full of these. Too bad there were only two.

Value: I picked up this "collection" for $7.00. I got two of these bad boys in there. This was a steal.

Final word: Makes a red headed step child out of Killian's. Sorry George.

A bottle poured into a pint glass.

A: The beer pours a deep, amber red. The head dissipates quickly.

S: The aroma is malty and candy sweet.

T: The taste mimics the smell almost exactly. Malty and candy sweet. The finish is slightly dry and bitter (very light on the bitter). The beer is kind is bread-like, but not plain bread, a bread with a light spread of fruit jelly.

M: The beer feels relatively thin and lighter bodied.

O: This is by no means a bad beer. Like most Samuel Adams, this beer is tamed down in both flavor and alcohol. It is a good beer for anyone and to be appreciated, but is not trying be cutting edge or anything.

I love a good red colored beer. This beer pours a deep, slightly brownish red with a big white head that could have lasted longer.

All malt in the nose ... very nice.

The taste is a little thin despite having a great malty body. Not complex, but very nice. The beer finishes with a slightly burnt/metallic flavor; it is very faint, but still present.

It has a crisp, almost lager-ish mouthfeel. Highly drinkable. Not much to say about this one; it focuses on malt sweetness and does a solid job of it.

A. Poured a clear copper amber color with a creamy off white one finger head. Decent lacing on the glass.

S. Carmel, cereal, grain, leaves

T. Malty carmel sweetness start, followed by a nice bitterness, slightly yeasty aftertaste.

M. Medium bodied, medium carbonation. Creamy

D. Nice balanced beer, nothing outstanding, but good nonetheless.

12oz bottle poured into a mug

A: Poured with a one finger light khaki slightly uneven head that faded pretty quickly to a ring of foam. Darker brown color that's a bit lighter at the edges. Lots of carbonation bubbles moving quickly to the top.

S: The smell gives me bready malt and spicy hops.

T: Bready malts with a minor malt sweetness and spicy hops with a minor bitterness. Flavors are stronger when the beer gets warmer, but a slightly astringent aftertaste shows up when the beer warms up as well. Good tasting overall.

M: The carbonation is right where I want it to be, and it makes the beer very drinkable. Medium light body. Finish is a little dry to style.

O: This is a great beer for the style that it is, though not spectacular in the big world of beer. If you like S.A. Boston Lager you should like this one.

A - Copper red with a off white head. The foam really sticks around on this beer.

S - Not much coming off, maybe a little biscuit.

T - Surprising amount of hop flavor, a little bit of biscuit, malt, and just a tiny taste of peanuts?

M - Kinda full for a Irish red. A little bit of slickness.

D - Not bad at all. Nothing extra special, but a solid Irish red.

12 oz ----> pint

A: Deep chestnut brown with shades of red. Beige head is quickly dissipating.

S: Earthy notes and some caramel and toffee.

T: Not too much going on in the taste department. Malt forward beer. Tastes of toffee and caramel. Kiss of hops at the end adds some bitterness. Pretty subdued, but it's kind of appropriate for the style.

M: Creamy, medium, decent carbonation. Spot on.

O: Pretty decent. Better than most of the style. In my opinion, the style isn't too amazing. This beer is pretty representative of it, though. It's good and balanced, but not my cup of tea.
