Poured from a 12 oz bottle into a pint glass. Served chilled...

A) Pretty much brown with a hint of amber. There was a finger of light tan head. It had a creamy look to it. Okay retention... No lacing...

S) Malt/Roast, light pumpkin and accompanying pie spices.

T) The pumpkin flavor hits first, followed by some lively spices, which included nutmeg and cinnamon. There was a little brown sugar and graham cracker too. This is not balls to the walls pumpkin here, but it's really quite nice.

M) A little thin actually, with a good amount of carbonation. It goes down smooth enough, with a spicey/earthy aftertaste.

O) I think this brew might be a good intro for folks a little bit skeptical of the idea of a pumpkin beer. Glad to recommend...

Poured from a bottle into a conical pint glass.

Appearance- Minimal head that dissipates quickly. Color is dark amber, reminiscent of dark honey. Small amount of lacing.

Smell- Rather weak, but aroma of malts with a hint of spices.

Taste- Up front malts dominate, beginning with a smokey taste that gives way to a more roasty one. Finishes with hints of pumpkin and spices which linger in the mouth along with a much less pronounced smokiness.

Mouth feel- I'm sorry to say it but 'watery' was what sprung to mind... perhaps lacking a bit in complexity. Otherwise carbonation was average to slightly above average, yet the beer still felt on the smooth.

Overall I find this beer nothing to write home about, but nothing to be upset over either. I did believe the malts overpowered the pumpkin and spices a little, which I would have preferred to be a little less subtle.

Poured from a bottle into a Sam Adams Glass.

Appearance: Dark Amber color with a beige head of about two fingers. The head lingered for a long time and almost no lacing on the glass.

Smell: Roasted malts and pumpkin.

Mouthfeel/Taste: Medium bodied and thick, but smooth. Taste like pumpkin, but not sweet. Carmal malts mix in to give and slight bittersweet taste but mostly a bitter taste. Literally like raw pumpkin.

Overall: This is the definition of a Pumpkin Ale, not sweet, just pumpkin with malts and hops. At least thats what I think.

Pours a brownish-copper with a finger of head that dissipated quickly, but left a trace of lacing. Subtle pumpkin notes are present in the nose, but there is also an astringent scent as well. Subtle sweetness is certainly present in the taste. Some of that is due to the pumpkins, but the malt profile also clearly adds to the sweetness.

2012 bottle into tumbler.

A- Crystal clear hazelnut brown pour with a finger width, light tan head. Lacing is minimal.

S- Dynamite spices! Perfect amounts of cinnamon, nutmeg, brown sugar and vanilla. Minimal pumpkin, but very aromatic.

T- Pumpkin up front, cinnamon, nutmeg, brown sugar, vanilla and a touch of pie crust in the finish. Slightly nutty.

M- Light bodied, good carbonation.
