Had this while in Boston last year, just remembered it while browsing some Irish Reds on BA.

Such a fantastic Irish Red. It's not going to be quite as bold flavored as some would like. However, it lives at the corner of taste and drinkability.

I very much enjoy their "regular" Irish Red, but I would not be upset if they swapped that out and made this one their national Irish Red, since you cannot get the Boston Brick Red anywhere else, or it's extremely limited.

I really could drink this every day.

Served on tap in a pint glass
Apperance - The beer is served a reddish amber color with a small head of foam. The head fades fast leaving a little lase on the side of the glass.
Smell - The aroma is strong of a caramel and toasted and roasted malt with a big bready smell. Along with these smells comes a bit of harvest fruit of apple as well as a bit of cherry. Other aromas of a herbal and raw green hop smell are there as well.
Taste - The taste starts with a big caramel and lightly toasted malt flavor. At the same time there is a bit of graininess and some light herbal and pine hop. As the taste advances, some light harvest fruits and more caramel comes to the tongue. With a bit of raw hop coming to the tongue one is left with a malty and rather sweet, but lightly dank taste to linger on the tongue.
Mouthfeel - The body is thick and chewy for the abv. with a lower carbonation level.
Overall - Decent. Very malty, but balanced by a decent darkness (at least for a amber).

Pours a beautiful clear amber color with a light tan head that provides some lacing. The nose is caramalt and some stone fruit (cherries) from the hops.

The hops are represented up front on the taste, with a delicious, fruity cherry flavor flowing into the nice caramel flavor at the back of the palate. Wonderful.

Nicely carbed mouthfeel, this is one of those flavorful easy drinkers that I really appreciate. Glad I got to try this.

Hard to get since not sold outside Boston. Had after visiting SA brewery. One of their better beers for me. Would definitely recommend for non IPA drinkers.

It's red and it's good. Comes across as sweet but not too much. Definitely an upgrade over the more standard Sam Adams beers, it tasted nearly as good as from the tap. 4 pack of them gets you pretty drunk. Definitely worth a try.

Finally, the locally famous Samuel Adam’s Brick Red (named after the Red Brick Freedom Trail in Boston) is now available in cans. The Covid era has closed many bars in Boston and this once bar exclusive ale has been canned. A pleasant change from an IPA heavy New England market. Hints of caramel are present. Smooth drinking, low carbonation, creates a nostalgic feel of drinking the same in a local bar. If you can find it, try it.

Sam Adams still brews great beer! Love the deep red/almost brown color this pours with a huge foamy head. Taste is very caramel, kind of sweet. Really nice beer for this red ale style, definitely worth a shot if you get a chance.

16 oz can into a tulip glass.

Pours a chill-hazed mahogany color with a massive, creamy khaki colored head. The retention is real, as is the cobweb crown of lacing it leaves as it stubbornly settles into a thick mattress pad of foam. Bee-utiful.

The aroma brings strong notes of toast and caramel malts, followed by a touch of dark fruits, roasted nuts and hops.

The flavor has a bit more fruit than expected, with subtle notes of black cherries and fig. The middle is all malt; caramel and bread. Finishes with the absolute foggiest idea of earthy hops.

The feel is surprisingly medium bodied with moderate carbonation. A little slick but otherwise smooth.

Overall, this is a great red ale. It's full of malty flavor and drinkability. A bit on the sweeter side but overall it's well done.
