Juicy, hazy and full-on wicked, Wicked Hazy New England IPA is bursting with fresh fruit aroma, packing punches of orange, mango and pineapple. It's delightfully drinkable with fun flavors and a smooth, silky finish. Crack it open and be prepared - it's wicked delicious!

Sam Adams really knocked this one out of the park. They hit all the marks of a high quality hazy IPA.

Amber gold in color and not particularly hazy. Pleasant overall but not noteworthy.

Rather bland and only semi-hazy. Wicked mediocre

12oz can.
L: Hazy, mango colour with one finger of cream head that leaves rings of lacing.
S: Citrus zest & juice. Not bad at all.
T: Follows the nose but is a tad more pithy. Bitterness is low.
F: Extra smooth with a dry-ish finish.
O: Solid NEIPA. Not a stand-out - flavour profile is pretty generic - but it’s easy drinking and enjoyable. Would be a great bbq beer if it dropped ABV.

This is not a bad offering from Sam Adams. I was home brewing beer back in the 80's when Sam Adams was a Craft Brewer. Over the years I stopped buying SA just because he went commercially large, and his offerings were kinda, well Sam Adams-ish-you knew what you were getting, and there was so many new players on the scene pushing the envelop that, well why bother. Having said that, Jim Koch deserves a hell of a lot of credit for being on the forefront of that first wave of craft brewers, among others of course, like Fritz Maytag et. al. But this review isn't about that wave of craft brewing, I'm just setting the stage.
Now for this beer: I was shopping for my everyday beer, Hazy Little Thing IPA by Sierra Nevada Brewing Co. ( I drink a lot of expensive small craft artisanal beers, but at greater than $20 a 4 pak, one needs an everyday beer ) and my local was out of it, but they had this new to me Sam Adams Wicked Hazy. A little voice in my head said " get it, it'll probably be alright." So, I did. It was a 12 pak, so I was making an investment in an unknown, but an unknown by a familiar entity.
And it is alright. Almost gives Hazy Little Thing a run for it's money.
Nice straw hazy color. Citrus on the nose. Nice head, but short lived. Lacy. Good quaffable beer. My only criticism is it needs a tiny bit more of everything-a little more punch if you will. I will enjoy this entire 12 pak, and probably buy it again when I want a change up from my "everyday IPA", but it comes in a close 2nd to Hazy Little Thing.

Very nice! Will keep this one around. It's a slightly dialed-back New England-style DIPA. You might call it a sessionable DIPA.
I bought a 4-pack at my local Downeast market. I have enjoyed several craft beers over the past several years and was almost too much of a snob to buy a Sam Adams (commercial-scale brewery) brew. It turned out to be a great choice.
