Corked and caged 750 ML Bottle.

Clear dark red colored beer with a small tan colored head.

Smell is sour fruity and spicy with a strong apple aroma. Some sweetness and a trace of oak scent. Bitterness seems to be as much from tannins as it is from hops.

Starts out dry and slightly sour. Sour apple cider with some cinnamon and lemon juice, almost tastes mulled. Reasonable amount of bitterness. Not a wild ale fan but this is OK.

Mouthfeel is OK.

Overall and OK beer. I'm not a wild ale fan but this is OK.

A. Ruby red with a creamy head. Very appealing.

S. Fizzy passion fruit with a lightly smoked malt, tickles my nose

T. Wow, everything came together with a sour finish. Like a wine. The sour is like a dark green sour apple. Not a sharp sour, pleasant

M. Real fizzy, like cola. Very nice and tart...

O. I tried this on a whim, pretty tastey whim. And this is my first Sam Adams anything. Great job. If anything, would like a higher ABV.

A half finger of offwhite head and a deep garnet body.

Smell nails it. Tart, a bit of grape and oak, but subtle.

Classical example. Tart, but not extremely so, and well balanced. Trace of bittering coriander. Not super bold. Oak mellows and rounds out the body, adding some richness. Delicious.

Smoothish, if a bit frothy.

An excellent American 'Flemish' Red. Delicious. Kind of Liefmans-esque.

Poured into a tulip glass

A: Opaque dark amber with a tan one finger head that quickly dissipates. Nice lacing.

S: Dark fruit (apricot, dates, pears), Cloves, earthy.

T: Lambic tartness to start, then a cherry-like flavor pops in. Pepper, oak. Chocolate. Fruity, sweet, with a wine kind of finish. Unusual, but I like it. The 9% slides in to relax the senses. Better cooler.

M: Medium with creamy carbonation. Love how it sits on the tongue.

O: Glad I tried it. Different, but tasty. A great ale to sit on the back porch listening to the rain with. Relaxing. If you're a lambic fan, this is a pleasing beginning to a fine sipper.

Appearance: Quite the dark amber almost brown with a two finger head.

Aroma: Tart fruits in the front sour cherries with traces of citrus fruit. Almond and subtle notes of oak in the back.

Taste: Sour cherries, light dryness on the palate, tartness all through it. Oak, almond and minor bits of pistachio.

Notes: A rather complex beer but very tasty lots of yummy sourness. Cheers.

A- Amber body with some deep ruby tones. Head disappears quickly and leaves a very thin layer of tan bubbles on top.

S- A musty aroma is noticeable initially, with some cherry and grape notes as well. Hidden in the back is some oak and a hint of spice.

T- Sour, with a musty grape taste up front, followed by some sweetness and a cherry taste along with some oak.

M- The start is thin and the finish is very dry.

O- All in all, a complex and interesting beer. Tastes could mesh a little better, and may over some time in the cellar. I would definitely give this one another shot.

A-very very dark red. Nice tan pinkish tan head.

S-woah I smell a whole buttload of sour. It's smells like a mix of whipped strawberry butter and vinegar. Some cinnamon. Strong scent. Afraid to try.

T-actually it comes in with only a mildly sour taste of aged dark cherries. It definitely tastes a bit oak aged. It's a very smooth and decent flavor. It has just a slight touch of bitterness.

M-medium dry carbonation with a dry finish

O-it's a very drinkable beer. It's subtle. The flavors aren't strong but there's nothing wrong with it, no off flavors. A whole bottle is easily finished by one person. To be honest, much better than what I'd expect for a wild ale from Sam Adams.

Served in signature Duvel glass (over-sized tulip).

Appearance: Pours a real deep dark amber color, when held to the light bubbles through the body (it already looks appetizing). Has an orangey-white head maybe 1/3" off the body.

Smell: Smells little like bourbon or scotch, but you need top know this...it is light. Has a hard orange/tangerine smell. Believe me it looks better than it smells.

Taste: It tastes better than it smells as well. Has a strong mandarin feel with a little scotch. I mean the barley is good I just want a little more and I know I am not a lone here.

Mouth: I tell you it is definitely medium to heavy carbonation which I do like this particular brew. Goes down awkwardly smooth.

Overall: I really want to like this beer a lot but I can't. I mean don't hate it but I was expecting a lot more. I will tell everyone have a glass, but factoring in price your better off trying something more suit to your style than experimenting on this. If you don't give a Fcuk like me drink up...Salud!

750 ml bottle. Pours hazy amber with a small off-white head. Aroma is of bready malt, barnyard yeast, cherry, woody and sour. Body is full, crisp and creamy. Taste is very sour, sweet malt, caramel, candy sugar, cherry, funky yeast, wood, lemon zest, herbal hops. Finish is long, tart and pleasant. Very complex, delicious brew.

Sample: 1 bottle 2011

A: Dark reddish orange, heavy internal carbonation, pours a small light brown lasting head, a bit hazy

S: Very complex and fragrant nose, elements of cherries, dried fruit, chocolate, some tropical notes, touch of alcohol

T: Much like the nose, complex and flavorful, definite chocolate covered cherry elements, great sweet and sour balance, some citrus, unique

M: For a fairly high abv and given its style, incredibly smooth, easy to drink, light fruity aftertaste, not lingering or overpowering on the palate, as previously mentioned, well balanced

O: Complex and unique, great aromas, flavors, and smooth as well, definitely worth trying, an experience
