This was one of the usual successes from the Boston Beer Co. The only one from these guys I did not really care for was Bonfire Blond......too smoky.

One of the worst beers I have ever tasted but I hate ALL IPA's still better than Sam Adam's Bonfire Blonde though barely. Another beer that I could NEVER recommend.

It's the only simple IPA I know from Sam Adams that has a quench bitter, citrus, piney aroma that one would expect from an IPA but still doesn't compare to IPA's from micro craft brewers. And as nearly always it carries that Sam Adams flavor found in nearly every Sam Adams brew.

Has the kind of amber looking appearance. Decent clarity. 1/2" white head. Aroma is a mixture of hops, one of the best dry hop aromas for Sam Adams ever.

Taste was good, they finally got with the times and put out an ipa that goes big on the hops, imparts plenty of citrus, isn't overly malty, and has an ibu feel to it of around 50. grapefruit and unsweetened orange feels on this one.

Good bodied IPA, with a good complex malt flavor. The hops addition is good, albeit bitter. Seems that limiting this to one or two hops styles would make for a better beer. The hops are spicy, earthy, fruity and Piney but it's just too much to call this world class.

Clear orange amber color with a thick off-white head. Decent retention. Piney, orange, earthy aromatics. The taste follows - a bit too malty with some sweetness, but balanced pretty well with the hops. Complex taste. Pretty good.
