A: Nice deep golden amber coloring pours to two fingers of head the quickly dissipates to a very thin veil of lace across the stop that likes to cling all the way down the sides.

S: Nice sweet aromas, floral hops and some tropical fruits with some light citrus notes thrown in.

T: Nice sweetness up front, fruits like apple and some pear and then hit with the piney hops bitterness. After taste is typical IPA bitterness.

M: Light carbonation works with bitterness, slightly dry feeling left on the tongue.

O: Not a bad IPA by any means. more sweetness and then balance from the bitterness. Enjoyable, but as usual with IPA's, a bit bitter for my liking.

Bought a couple bottles of these as part of the fall seasonal pack. Poured into a Popeye half-pint glass. Beautiful clear brown ale with a proper white foamy head that leaves scattered lacing around the glass. The smell is not lacking in sophistication and gives the drinker what one would expect in a proper IPA -- hops, some bitter caramel, and nuts with a flavor that backs it up. The mouthfeel and aftertaste do it for me, leaving a bitter cashew-esque flavor in my mouth that makes me eager for my next sip as one would enjoy a bowl of nuts. Overall, I like this IPA a lot, and I would definitely come back to it as a favorite Sam Adams.

A- On the dark side of amber, good clarity, nce head beige head, laces well.

S- Not highly aromatic, some sweet malts and floral hops can be detected.

T- Nice balance between sweet malts and herbal, slightly resinous hops, citrus and fruity notes are minimal, finishes well.

M- Good,carbonation is pleasant,medium bodied,somewhat velvety.

O- I have purchased this before and will do so from time to time,a good value when on sale. Not a top tier IPA but very drinkable and solid, consistent as well.Seems to be a cross between a traditional English and American IPA.Not quite a go to IPA but a good fall back one.I prefer S.N. Torpedo as far as availability and price point is concerned.

Nothing quite fantastic in the realm of American IPAs,however it is a solid well made brew and a good drink. Worth a try and recommended.
