Bland. Boring. Uninspired. This is a rather forgettable beer that really has nothing going for it other than the fact that it’s easy to drink. Would not buy again. By far the weakling of the variety pack.

Bottle from the mixed 12 pack from Market Basket
Mostly clear medium gold color with a smallish bubbly white head. Bready lightly sweet maltiness with lemon and earth and finishing with a hint of stone fruit and light tartness. Crushable

Aggressive pour yields some solid head. I contemplate why this is listed as a "fruit and field beer" as it slowly recedes. Lacing is spotty and gobby. Smells very fruit-forward and that may explain it's odd distinction. Is there pineapple in this? I see something called "Summer Adventure Lager" and just assume it's your run-of-the-mill, easy-drinking lager. And I suppose it probably will be. I just wasn't anticipating that nose. Label says there's pineapple and lime added. I approve of the lime off-hand. We'll see about the pineapple. There's an odd undercurrent on the nose, though. Something I can't quite place. Wet cardboard? I look through the reviews and I'm not the first person to suggest that. Tastes a little odd, too, but the fruit additions do enough to mask it. I'm starting to get the impression that they intended to make a standard light lager, something went sideways and instead of dumping it they just added a bunch of fruit. It's not terrible, but it's not great either. The mouthfeel is about right, though. Light and fizzy and easy-drinking. That nose just gets worse as you get further into the cup, though. I may not finish this.

LOOK: Pours a clear pale straw yellow with an all white head that has decent retention as glass lace.
well as side
AROMA: Oh man, that is not inviting! Don't even get any type of a poured beer aroma. Maybe wet cardboard.
Taste: ?? I don't like it all.. is just plain lousy.
Far below Sam Adams standards.

Poured from a bottle. Straw in color with a white foamy head. Smells of pineapple, lime, grass and hints of floral. Flavor comes together very well, pineapple work other citrus hints and lime is definitely present. Light crisp, refreshing everything you want on a hot summer day. Very glad I have three more of these in the fridge

12oz bottle. Poured out a clear, golden orange color with a small, off-white head of foam. It left sudsy trails of lace on the glass. It smelled of tangerine, caramel and floral notes. Sweet fruity taste with caramel and a very mild bitterness.

From a 12oz bottle dated best by September 2023 into my trusty Fenway Park pint glass.

Pours a translucent pale golden color with about one finger of white head that dissipates very quickly. No lacing to speak of.

Bottle opening gives a bit of pineapple. Some lime on the pour. Very light grainy qualities.

Mostly citrus taste. Lime, lemon. Not a ton of lager qualities. Maybe a hint of breadiness.

Light mouthfeel. Wet. Quenches thirst. Medium carbonation. Citrusy aftertaste.

Hot day beer that one can drink from a bottle? Not sure what the target was here.

Pours a clear straw yellow with an adequate amount of white foamy head. Some spotty lacing. Aroma is faint, biscuits, and lime. Flavor is a bit bolder than the nose. The lime is more pronounced and I'm getting a bit of saltiness, very little pineapple (which is fine by me) and some grassy hops add a touch of bitterness in the finish. Feel is light and well carbonated. Overall, a pleasant surprise from a beer that was tossed into a mixed 12 pack.

There is a notch on the side of the label over "OCT" with the text "FRESHNESS MATTERS. ENJOY BEFORE MONTH NOTCHED."

Appearance: The body of the beer has a bright medium gold color with brilliant clarity. It has a medium-short fluffy white head which has excellent retention. There are some spots of lacing that are left on the glass but not much stays behind. It would look great in a magazine.

Aroma: It has a bit of a weird aroma which smells like garlic and rye bread, which is fine, but then there is a bit of a bandaid scent as well. It just smells strange to the point where the mind is almost tricked into believing that it doesn't smell weird, but then as the nose approaches the glass each time it comes back very quickly. There are parts of the aroma which are alright but the scent takes away from the drinking experience when it draws negative attention to itself.

Taste: There is a grain flavor up front with a bit of rustic bread character. Towards the middle of the mouth there is a bit of this odd fruity flavor which is a bit like black currant and passion fruit but not quite. The fruity note has this odd sharp flavor that mixes with the rest of the beer and feels weird to drink. There is a bit of a wheat cracker flavor towards the end and a bit of a bandaid character in the aftertaste. It is as odd to drink as it smells.

Mouthfeel: Drinkability is pretty low on this beer. It has a body that rests firmly between the upper edge of light and the lower edge of medium. It has a bit of a texture to it making it more of a beer that would go well with food or a palate cleanser to sweep things up. There is a bit of a slickness to it.

Overall: It smells and tastes so weird that it feels more comfortable leaving the glass on a table rather than in the hand. The beer has some pleasant savory aromas and a nice grain flavor but it isn't enough to save the beer. The back label states that this is "EASY AND CRISP" which is not the case. It feels a bit too heavy and slick to be an easy drinking summertime beer. The back label states that this has "HINTS OF PINEAPPLE AND LIME" which is probably where the fruity notes came from. To the beer's credit it does have a fruity character but it comes across as passion fruit and black currant which doesn't mix well with the rustic bread flavors in the beer.

As a whole the beer felt like a mess but at least it looks great in a glass. I definitely wouldn't recommend it as a summertime beer but I wouldn't recommend it during any season either. I wouldn't buy it again.

From a 12 oz bottle snipped at Sep 23. Sampled May 19, 2023.

Attractive golden pour with streaming carbonation up to a white head.

The aroma emits white bread, lemon, peach, and a hint of sage.

Medium mouthfeel

The taste is sweet and bready with a slight lemon tartness to finish. Light. Refreshing for a summer night.

Poured from a can into a pint glass
Appearance – The beer pours a clear golden color with a tiny head of fizzy white foam. The head fades fast, leaving a touch of lace on the sides of the glass.
Smell – The aroma is light overall with notes of graininess and some pineapple, lime, and papaya mixed with a bit of bready malt and a light herbal and floral hop.
Taste – The taste starts out with a lightly pineapple sweetened and cracker malt base flavor mixed with a hint of lime and a touch of toast and bread. As the taste advances the lime gets stronger and is joined by a bit of peach and pear as well as some hay and herbal and floral hop, leaving one with a moderately crisp and pineapple fruity crisp taste to linger on the tongue.
Mouthfeel – The body of the brew is light and crisp with a higher carbonation level. For the light crisp nature of the brew the feel is good and makes for an easy drinker.
Overall – A tasty brew with an easy-going nature. As the name would suggest, a nice summer drinker.

This beer pours a very clear, amber color. It has a huge white head that dissipates slowly. The aroma is vague, but pleasant. It is primarily the aroma of fresh malt. Bitter lemon rind is the overwhelming taste. The mouth after-feel is thick and syrupy. Overall, even though my numeric ratings don't reflect it, I consider this a refreshing summer session beer. It much more resembles a lambric than a lager, and I judged it based on being a lager.
