32 ounce growler filled at DeCicco's in Ardsley, NY.

Pours black under a dark mocha head. Leaves respectable light bands of fine lacing as well as low sheeting.

Dark malts and black chocolate nose.

Nose follows through onto the palate, more dark malts, chocolate and understated black coffee. Medium bodied, quite enjoyable and easy drinking. Worth a try for stout fans

Let some pork tenderloin have a bath in a marinade with this as a base. Then enjoy with another glass

A - Pours a dark black-brown color with a finger of frothy mocha colored head. The head fades down fairly slowly leaving behind some nice lacing.

S - Aroma is a mix of roasted coffee and chocolate malts with a bit of black licorice and some light lactose sweetness.

T - Starts off with some roasted chocolate and other dark malts with a hint of dark fruit sweetness and a bit of licorice. Through the middle, some more bitter coffee beans come through with some light lactose sweetness. The finish is a mix of dark chocolate and coffee with some light dark fruit and licorice.

M - Medium bodied with moderate carbonation. Feels smooth with a dry, roasted, and lightly bitter finish.

D - Very drinkable. Good coffee stout. Nice balance of roasted coffee flavors with a stout base.

Pretty nice looking beverage. Deep brown, basically opaque, and nice frothy head. Head is about an inch at first and fades to an 1/8" reasonably quickly. Just a wee bit of lace remains behind. Aroma is good and malty with chocolaty dark coffee, slight honey, faint purple grapes, tobacco, and also something that mysteriously reminds me of salty peanuts. Hmm... I like the way this tastes. A non-confrontational stout with the right amount of malt, coffee, and hops. A good mix. Flavors include roasty, not burnt, coffee beans, yummy barley grains, some caramel, milk & bittersweet chocolate, and perhaps some subtle earthy hops. A touch of hoppy bitterness through the finish compliments the coffee aspect. Medium body, slightly on the heavy side, and slick, slightly resinous texture. The fine, even carbonation is at just at the right level for this.

I am pleasantly surprised by this beer. For me it is possibly in the realm of a session-able stout.

Black colored beer with a small brown colored head.

Smells sweet with a strong coffee aroma ans a vanilla scent. Little bit of caramel and that is about it, not the most complex smelling beer. The caramel and vanilla do give this a Crème Brûlée smell though.

Starts out semi sweet with a moderate coffee flavor and a fair amount of patent malt. This gets sweeter as you drink it. Bitterness is medium and from both coffee and hop. Vanilla and chocolate are in here but it pretty much is a coffee beer.

Mouthfeel is good.

Overall a tasty beer, but there are better coffee stouts out there.

A: Dark brown with lots of sticky lacing.

S: Coffee and roasted malt. Mild.

T: Moderate sweetness and light hop bitterness to balance. Nice roasted flavor with real coffee. Chocolate and toast as well. The coffee is not overpowering, and the bitterness is a perfect balance.

M: Medium bodied with fizzy carbonation. Smooth and creamy and slightly warm. Not as thick as one would expect a stout to be but still good.

O: Slightly above average coffee stout. I haven't had any other coffee stouts before, so I would try this again.

Very dark brown color with a dense tan head on top. Nice amount of pleasant coffee beans in the aroma and a trailing dark chocolaty sweetness. Roasty, creamy coffee flavor...obviously quite malty with a pinch of fruit in the finish. Straightforward, but satisfying. Creamy, oily medium body. I'm a sucker for coffee stouts and this suits me just fine.

Served in a Sam Adams perfect pint glass just because.

Beer is dark brown approaching black with a decent tan head with low retention, some spotty lacing, moderate to low carbonation.

Aroma is mild but definitely coffee, mild sweetness too.

Beer is medium in body, mildly bitter at the end with some mild chocolate malt and some coffee. Beer is fine for a little coffee stout and I'd have it again but it's not special in anyway. Medium bodied, mildly sweet stout with coffee.

Single finger head on a dark body with little light passing through which produces a reddish hue. Standard roasted malt and hint of coffee aroma you would expect, nothing great or special. Flavor is much better with sweet milk chocolate throughout. The coffee and roasted malts add a lot of flavor without being too bitter. Excellent lacing with medium to thick body and light to moderate carbonation. Very drinkable beer. I like coffee heavy beers but there is enough coffee to satisfy coffee lovers but not too much to turn off those who aren't coffee fans.

Poured into a pint glass from a 12oz bottle.

A - Pours a very dark brown with some slight black hints and some ruby red edges. There is a nice 1 inch head that is light tan with some nice dense bubbles. Pretty creamy. It slowly recedes and it leaves some sticky lacing on the glass like a cappuccino.

S - Smooth roasty malt notes, with some chocolate and some nice coffee grounds. Very smooth and appealing. Seems light as well. Easy to drink and approachable. Nose is lacking a bit.

T & M - Starts off with some roasty coffee ground notes. Very delicious coffee notes. There is some slight smokey and burnt malt notes. There is also some slight nut to the beer. Maybe some hazelnut. Very good chocolate notes as well. This is quite delicious and approachable. There is some slight coca powder sweetenss and chocolate notes that blend really well with the roasted notes. This is a solid stout and a solid effort by BBC. Mouthfeel is light-medium with nice carbonation.

O - Great solid effort by Koch. It is very delicious and drinkable and has some well crafted flavors that play well with each other.
