Delicious malty backbone. The Tasmanian hops are subdued slightly by the malts, but still add a very nice citrus bitterness to the brew.
Overall, a really good beer that does not fit my profile for a typical IPA, and it looks great too.

12 oz. bottle from the Hopology box
Glass: SA perfect pint
Pour: Reveals a burnt red body with a thick and rocky, orange latte colored head.
Smell: Reveals a malty backbone, wet bread and toffee, pine sap and fresh grapefruit peel.
Taste: Mmmm. Tasmanian hops, juicy grapefruit, hint of roasted malts. Balanced.
Feel: Balanced carbonation. Clean and dry finish.
Overall: A beer that deliciously showcases SA's ability to brew many different styles successfully, including IPA's. I wish I could find six packs of this.

Red and dark orange colors approaching light brown. Aroma of c hops and red malts.

Taste was bitter, but enough regular 2 row to absorb some heat and bitterness. Toffee malt flavors start to become the primary thing you get in every sip. Nothing unique about the hop profile or contributions.

This beer pours a dark brown with amber highlights. There is a half finger khaki head with no retention, but niced webbed lacing. Smell is typical sam adams caramel malt with a hint of dark fruit. Taste is the same with a hint of alcohol. Feel is medium with little carbonation. Overall pass. The hoppy red in the sam fall pack was awesome, but this beer is not enjoyable at all.

There's a nice little sweetness here, which is very uncommon for an IPA. It does take a bit of the impact away from the hops, but it helps make it unique and all-around pleasant.

Deep dirty red. Tawny head.
Smell of pine. Earth. Dirt. Pineapple even. Taste is earthy. Pineapple. Pine. Orange peels. Doughy bread. Feel is medium.

This is a real gem of the San Adam's family I love this brew I wish Samuel Adam's would make it permanently this is the crown jewel of all Samuel Adams beers. If you have not tried this do it while you can I think it is only available in a variety pack but my god this beer is up there with jai Ali and straight to ale milk stout. Thank you all sincerely, William "the joker" glasscock
