Enjoyed in a pint glass

A: pours a crystal clear amber color with ample carbonation bubbles and a two finger head that is frothy and is light tan, lingers for a bit and leaves a nice amount of lacing
S: has a nice crisp scent that is reminiscent of the obvious wood notes and has a nice sweetness underlying
T: actually a very pleasant taste, begins with nice woody notes then kicks in with nice caramel malts and a nice sweetness that linger on through the very end
M: medium to slightly aggressive carbonation, clean across the middle yet leaves the mouth noticeably dry
O: another impressive offering from Boston beer in this, what i believe to be their best mix pack yet

A - Pours a deep red. Small white head that gives way to no lacing.

S - Sweet malts. Caramel.

T - Oaky rich malts. Caramel notes. Some bready elements. Hint of vanilla leads into a slightest touch of hops in the finish.

M - Medium. Syrupy.

O - I am not a fan of Reds but this is less sweet than most, with a mildly smoky allusion.

12 oz bottle from verity pack. Pours red with a short lived, off-white head. Grassy hops in the aroma followed by caramel malt. The body is medium and crisp. Caramel malt is balanced on the palate by earthy hops with some woody, fruity and sugary notes. Long, earthy finish. Nice, easy drinking Amber.

I'm not a fan of ambers and this reminded me of one except for the slightly oak'd taste. Nothing special with this beer. Quality is typical of a Samuel Adams beer. Good packaging and labeling. I'd would have preferred a stronger oak taste. Worth a try but I'd limit it to a six pack.

12 fl oz brown glass bottle served in a pilsner glass, reviewed live:

A - Pours a transparent copper color with a thin 1.5 finger, off white head. Retention is okay at best. Meh.

S - Caramel and crystal malt, toast, and light sweet fruit (particularly cherries). Smells sweet and possibly imbalanced, and I get absolutely no oak.

T - I still get no "distinct oak notes" as per the label. Total disappointment. It's your run of the mill red, much akin to their Irish red. Bland malts are sloppily handled. Just... not good.

M - Thick and smooth. '

D - Just a total failure on this one. I'll pass in the future.
