Was very surprised to find this beer in a single since Samuel Adams doesnt brew it anymore. This was my favorite beer from their spring variety pack and was the winner of the brew contest that was held.

A: This beer pours a nice medium, amber color with a thin, creamy white head that leaves some good lacing.

S: Distinct notes from the oak bring out this aroma that is followed by caramel and vanilla.

T: Very intense sweetness that is brought about by a strong oak flavor. The body consists of Vanilla, caramel and some malt. Nice dry finish that has a yeast type feel.

M: Very earthy mouth, but not of the Saison or pale ale kind. Has a very unique and distinct flavor. Carbonation is very present which helps bring out the notes from the oak.

O: I love this beer, even more so out of a glass. Oak themed beers have a complex brewing process that has generous amounts of vanilla and caramel. Very nice blend of ingredients. Im pretty sure this is the last of this beer I will every have the pleasure of drinking, so im savoring the flavor.

I got this as part of Sam Adam's Spring 12pk Brewer's Collection for $13.39 at Woodman's in Janesville, WI in Winter 2011.

Pours a clear, reddish, amber color with a slight white frothy head. Scent is mostly that of dry malts. There is a unique taste here. Has obvious malt taste but with roasted tones. There are hints of vanilla and the oak really comes out in the dry finish. Another decent brew from Sam Adams, but why oh why does this only come in a 12pk variety pack?
