Style: Kellerbier / Zwickelbier
Alcohol by volume (ABV): 5.50%
Availability: Spring
Notes / Commercial Description:
Borne of our brewers’ many trips to Germany, Alpine Spring features a unique blend of lager attributes: the balanced maltiness and hoppiness of a Helles, the smoothness and slightly higher alcohol of a traditional spring bock, and the unfiltered appearance of a Kellerbier. The beer is brewed with Noble Tettnang hops to add a unique, bright orange-citrusy aroma and flavor.

Not my personal favorite, if you like citrusy beers, you willl love this one. Somerwhat like the Sam Adams Summer Ale, with an extra carmel note to is, which was a plus for me. This just isn't my style of beer, so my openion is based on that, keep that in mind.
Citrus, floral , caramel, easy to drink beer

Had a bottle sample of this at work the other night,I guess it's taking the spring seasonal spot next year with the Noble Pils becoming year around.Poured lighter hazed golden with a well formed 1/2 finger sticky white head atop. Some honey malt in the nose and that is basically it,faint lemon as well.Sweetish honey flavors at the onset with some firm toasted grain flavors,a smattering herbal hops in the finish with faint lemon. Not bad I think it is a good selection for a spring seasonal, its lighter but with a little substance.

A fair straw, with an orange underbelly. Sparse head with tight-ish lacing. Strong malt nose with a fair amount of overripe orange. A bit of lemon. Pretty good. Some tang at the outset with a grainy backdrop. The tang gives way to a strong, bready malt presence. Some nuttiness and some almost... graham cracker lays fat on the tongue. End mouthfeel could be a bit cleaner, but it's an eminently drinkable and flavorful beer.

A - Pours a hazy golden brown with two fingers of white head. Head has pretty good retention and leaves some spotty lacing.
S - Light bread aroma accompanied bit some citrus, some grassy hops and faint florals.
T - Nice bite of noble hops, some citrus, mostly orange peel and bread malts.
M - Mouthfeel is on the lighter side of medium, with a bit of bitter dryness on the finish.
O - Pretty enjoyable. I haven't had many in this style, and I like Surly Hell quite a bit more, but I would drink this again. It's an easy drinking, but still flavorful brew.
