Formerly "Alpine Spring".

Hazy and golden. This unfiltered lager is a breath of fresh air. The crisp maltiness and lively citrus notes transport you to brisk sunny days out in the mountains.

Malts: Samuel Adams two-row pale malt blend, honey malt and wheat malt.
Hops: Tettnang Tettnanger Noble hops and Mandarina hops.

IBU: 18

Note: I am in the process of moving all of my ratings from other beer sites to here, so that all of my ratings are consolidated in one place. The review below is an exact copy of my original RateBeer review from 01/23/2013.

12 oz. bottle. Pours a cloudy, golden-orange with a white, frothy head that lingers for a long time. Heavy citrus aroma with undertones of cracked black pepper. Taste is mildly sweet with flavors of orange and lemon. The mouth-feel on this is pretty good. Light-bodied with a slick texture. Carbonation is lively and the finish is short but sweet (literally). Overall, not too bad.

It's a light lager but a good one. Easy drinker. Won't blow the doors off but solid.

Has kind of a one-dimensionally herbal twang, piney with a little citrus. Super dry. Kinda thin. Wouldn't seek it out.

The can I just poured is called an Alpine Spring, which as near as I can tell is the same beer. It's part of the current Spring Favorites variety pack.

Reviewing this beer from memory. My twenty seventh brew reviewed from these guys. Like most beers from Boston Beer Company, also known as Sam Adams, this is just ok.

On tap at Sam Adams Brewery. Slightly hazy straw color with 2 finger foamy head. Earthy aroma with slight acidity. Malt forward taste with balanced bitter finish. I found it pleasant on a late summer day.

Not their best offering. There is IPA good bitter and there is nasty bitter and this leans the latter. Look is mediocre and mouthfeel is OK, but the best and almost good part of this is the herbal smell. Sadly, the taste is not following the smell. Can't recommend.

Not a bad beer. I believe this one came in a Sam sampler. Crisp and medium bodied, it went down well. Definite ready aroma with a nice citrusy hop finish. I'd drink this one again.

The pour is honey colored with a moderate amount of carbonation. The taste is pine, grains, mild hops, mild citrus, & mild honey. Furthermore, this beer style is starting to grow on me. Cheers! B
