Style: Kellerbier / Zwickelbier

Alcohol by volume (ABV): 5.50%

Availability: Spring

Notes / Commercial Description:
Borne of our brewers’ many trips to Germany, Alpine Spring features a unique blend of lager attributes: the balanced maltiness and hoppiness of a Helles, the smoothness and slightly higher alcohol of a traditional spring bock, and the unfiltered appearance of a Kellerbier. The beer is brewed with Noble Tettnang hops to add a unique, bright orange-citrusy aroma and flavor.

Attractive pour in my Sam Adams glass. Slightly cloudy apricot colored with a respectable head.

Taste as well is reminiscent of light apricot. There is a slight bitterness, hops doing their job. After a while, a sourness develops on the palate.

Not a big lager fan, but Sam Adams probably does a job near the top of beer producers in this category.

Part of the recent seasonal pack. Having flashbacks to the maple pecan porter in the same box. Now that was a good one.
