Nice amber color with copper tones. Head white, fading somewhat soon. Nose: yeasty, as expected, but also some nice spiciness from hops. Taste: unfortunately does not seem to deliver what the color and nose promise. Somewhat dry throughout. Surprisingly mild. Yeasty taste that would be expected in the style is present but not especially remarkable. Hops are mild as well. Taste seems to grow, fade, and grow again, a somewhat uneven experience. Mouthfeel dry and fading quickly. I'm surprised that this was not especially flavorful; the drink-by date was August according to the label.

LOOK: Bright golden/amber, touch of haze, thin white lace.
SMELL: Fresh toasty bread, light bubble gum, floral hops, faint tropical fruits.
TASTE: Crisp carbonation, creamy, light on the palate, dry upfront, bitter, lemony, apple-y, toasty malts, biscuity, dry, yeasty, tea-like linger.
Not too shabby. Reminds me of some of the first basic Belgian Pale Ales I had in my early beer geek days. No frills, but it's got some flavorful and quite drinkable. Wish it was a tad bit cleaner on the finish though.

The beer pours a yellowish color with a white head. The aroma is fairly fruity with a lot of orange and lemon notes, with a little bit of malt and some yeast thrown in. The flavor is similar, with a nice wheat malt backbone, with some grain and some orange also present. Thin mouthfeel and medium carbonation. Fairly straightforward. Nothing offensive, but nothing really stands out.

Poured from a bottle into a pint glass.
Appearance: Amber with a thin white head. No lacing on the glass.
Smell: Cloves, wheat and hops.
Mouthfeel/Taste: Smooth medium bodied. Taste of cloves with light hops.
Overall: Ok brew. Not my first choice.
