Like a Mike's Hard Lemonade without the heartburn. Like a girl you settle for because there's nothing else around. A solid middle of the road, right on the fence, won't excite nor offend anyone, alcoholic beverage.

I'm working my way through the Sam Adams Summer Squeeze pack. The Porch Rocker is the first one I'd buy again (still have the Beach Session IPA, but I'm looking forward to it). It's a dark yellow, mostly clear appearance. It only poured a thin head, that didn't stick around long. Aroma is a little lemon and a little bready/yeasty. The flavor of this one is really good, though--a nice, hoppy lager with just the right amount of lemon. Really tasty summer beer.

Can't shake the feeling that it tastes like the glass was cleaned with lemon scented soap and not rinsed properly. Doesn't seem fresh enough to be a refreshing lemon beverage or 'beery' enough to be beer.

12oz bottle poured into pint glass. OCT 2021 printed on glass of neck.
Appearance - Pours thin white head with weak patchy lacing and no stick. Clear gold body. A little plain and boring. 3
Smell - Thin, almost no smell at all. A swirl gives some faint citrusy notes. Not a bad smell by any means, but it loses points for just being so faint. 3.25
Taste - Delicious. Refreshing. The citrus fruitiness almost came across as grapefruit at first due to the slight sweetness, but it's just lemon-lime. Which actually makes it finish cleaner and more refreshing than grapefruit would. 4.75
Mouthfeel - Light and refreshing. 4.75
Overall - Extremely sessionable. This one might actually be better straight from the bottle, so I'l have to try that. 4.75

This is one of those beers that isn't much like a beer at all. It certainly has the appearance of one, pouring a clear yellow with a medium head. The typical lager look. Its smell is probably its weak point. The lemon is there, but we also have an industrial quality. Like the beer has been sitting in the vat for more than the recommended amount of time. It tastes purely like lemonade with a slight touch of toasted malt. It feels a bit thin, but also tingles the tongue to make up for the plain feel. I can totally picture myself sitting on a porch on a summer's day at a gathering I don't really want to be at. I would say this a solid sidegrade of Mike's hard lemonade. However, unlike Mike's Hard, you can actually review it on BeerAdvocate.

a nice summer ripper, but not a great take on the style overall, the beer part is really minimal and the citrus character tastes a little cheap, not quite fake, but seems a little less than fresh squeezed. they say the base beer is a helles, but i dont taste much german lager yeast, so it leaves a little something to be desired in the beer department. that said, this is nice and light, crisp and pretty clean on the finish, not sweet at all, a little tangy and quenching, and the mouthfeel is right with effervescent carbonation and a barely there body, i could see drinking a dozen of these on a boat when they are ice cold or something, high summer refresher, but being critical, more helles character would be rad, and a more natural lemon finish too. its been awhile since i have dipped into a sammy a twelve pack, and while this isnt my favorite in the mix, im sure the other bottles wont last long. its a style everyone likes so even average takes on it are generally well received. this is close to being really good but is a little safe and light on all counts for my personal preference...

12oz bottle into a pint glass. Best by September 2021, so plenty fresh.
Another crystal clear golden yellow beer from SA. And another poor head retention with no lacing.
Not much on the nose. A little lemon if I try hard.
On tasting, this is lemon-lime soda with lower carbonation.
Mouth medium, finish lemon-lime.
Overall, if it was 95 degrees outside, this would go down a treat. Then again, so would Sierra Mist.

Look: Pale yellow. Clear
Smell: Funky citrus. Refreshing soda like quality. A little off-putting.
Taste: It tastes strongly of Mtn Dew or another similar lemon-lime soda. There's a touch of malt that adds a nice layer of complexity and balance. It's very refreshing.
Feel: A bit light on the CO2.
Overall: This is a bit of an odd beer but it's fun to drink. It's refreshing and tastes like soda.
