Aroma, lemon, tangerines. Appearance, clear orange, No head. Taste was sticky orange lemon tangerine. Some hops, but mostly a light summer beer, though the overly sweet taste made it less refreshing than advertised. Feel, flat, thick for a lighter beer. Drinkable, but low on the totem pole of summer fruit beers.

Kinda knew what I was getting into with this one, but sometimes ya just want to try something cheap and refreshing on a hot day. This beer is very sweet and lightly tart with a slightly zesty aroma with some light malt. Somewhat of a metallic tartness on the end with a sickly sweet aftertaste that (fortunately) dissipates within a few seconds.

Not great, not completely offensive. Might pick this over other nationally distributed shandies.

Surprisingly bad.
Reminiscent of cheap beer vomit with an aftertaste of lemon.
Hints of effort do shine through, though its veiled by the taste of average beer with a modicum of metallic vomit and a general feeling of disappointment. Crisp carbonation can hide some of the terrible flavor if its cold enough.

Far from being something I'd drink again, but not so terrible I would kill myself.

Bottle poured into a glass

Clingy white foam layer sits atop a clear golden liquid with a constant stream of carbonation.

Aroma of tart lemons

Tart, crisp, lemony refreshing

Had just returned from Munich where had been drinking radlers and russns in the bier gardens, this beer is so similar in taste , a great representative of the style. The only reason I can attribute to the low ratings is that folks might not like the style. For the style, this is spot on. Go to summer beer for me.

12 ounce bottle into signature pint glass, best before 12/2015. Pours crystal clear golden straw color with a 2 finger fairly dense and fluffy white head with good retention, that reduces to a nice cap that lingers. Nice spotty soapy lacing clings on the glass, with a good amount of streaming carbonation retaining the cap. Aromas of lightly tart lemonade, lemon peel, wheat, cracker, biscuit, light pepper, and herbal/grassy earthiness. Very nice aromas with good balance of lemonade, pale malt, and light earthy hop notes; with good strength. Taste of lightly tart lemonade, lemon peel, wheat, cracker, biscuit, light pepper, and herbal/grassy earthiness. Light herbal bitterness and fruit tartness on the finish; with lingering notes of lemonade, lemon peel, wheat, cracker, biscuit, and herbal/grassy earthiness on the finish for a short bit. Very nice robustness and balance of lemonade, pale malt, and light earthy hop flavors; with a great malt/bitter/tartness balance and zero cloying flavors after the finish. Light-moderate dryness. Medium-high carbonation and light body; with a very smooth, crisp, and lightly creamy/grainy balanced mouthfeel that is great. Very clean on lager flavors with zero yeast ester notes present. Zero warming alcohol as expected of 4.5%. Overall this is a very nice Radler style! All around nice robustness and balance of lemonade, pale malt, and light earthy hop flavors; very smooth, crisp, clean, and refreshing to drink. This had a really nice presence of the Helles beer, vs other Radlers I’ve had in the past. A very enjoyable offering.

L - amber/yellow color. Two finger head with a vigorous pour. No lacing due to the lemon.

S - sweet lemon, light malt. Sweet with a hint if sour. Not a familiar beer smell.

T - mostly lemon, not lemonade but more lemon juice. Helles lager balances very nice with the acidity. Could be lemon peel or zest.

F - medium carbonation, no alcohol burn, juice texture, crushable, no lingering flavor either

O - one of my favorite summer beers. I look forward to this and Summer Ale each year. Completely blows Summer Shandy away, much better beer feel and taste. A beer drinker's Shandy

APPEARANCE: Golden, clear, finger of lasting white head, lots of carbonation rising. Mild lacing.
AROMA: Nice lemon scent, bready, a little grassy.
TASTE: Nice snappy, but not overdone on the lemon, bready malt, freshly cut grass.
FEEL: A little slick at first, then dry towards the finish. Medium thin body, plenty of carbonation.
OVERALL: Nice, lower abv brew for summer, nice flavor.

This is a golden Helles lager with a very minimal, quickly disappearing white head and an abundance of carbonation. This lager is made by adding lemonade and the scent supports this. The taste is sour and lemony with a slight beer taste in the background. This definitely tastes more like lemonade than a beer. I will say that it is a crisp and refreshing as the bottle promises, however, if you are looking to taste a beer this is not for you since it is hardly recognizable as one.

Pour a clear honey with 1/2 finger head that receeds quickly. Smells sweet, lemon, and a touch malt. Tastes immediately sweet, lemon, and malty. Finishes dry and bready with lingering sweetness. A very light drink that's suited for the beach or sipping as you mow the lawn on a warm day. Would rarely see me buy something like this, but would except it willingly over an adjunct lager from a cooler at the beach.

Crystal clear pale pale straw to pale gold in color with a finger of quickl disappearing white head. Aroma has lots of Pilsner malt and a faint hint of tartness. Taste falls flat, an odd artificial sweetness permeates this brew while subtlely tart lemons dance in the background. Mouthfeel is average, light-ish body and moderate carbonation try to keep this as an easy drinker. Overall I find this far too sweet and a bit cloying despite the low ABV. I will say that I enjoyed this far more straight from the bottle as opposed to poured into a glass. I must say I'm a bit disappointed, when I had 2 of those last weekend (literally sitting on the porch) I had a much more favorable impression of this brew.

I'm not even sure that radlers can be considered beer, it's basically beer mixed with lemonade. This one drinks surprisingly thick bodied for a radler, smells of lemon and sweet malt, and the malt flavor is excellent. It's a bit thin overall compared to the beers I really like, and much too sweet, but this really isn't bad, especially on a hot summer day.

Pours a lemon straw color with a thin, creamy head. Sweet malt and lemon smell. The taste is a bit too sweet for me, but if you backed it up a notch, this could be really good. The masses will like. The helles seems of decent quality, but would like a bit more bold. Finishes light with the candied lemon.

Pours with a golden body with decent head and lace. There is lemon and wheat and sweet malt in the nose.

Taste is too sweet for me, with sugar and lots of carbonation, almost like a cola. This definitely isn't my bag. I could recommend in hot weather with spicy food.

12oz bttl into BL glass
L- pours a super clear gold with foamy head which dissipates into ring of lacing
S- tart lemon, with some sweet malt
T- tickles the tongue with this real gorgeous sour/sweet tartness, followed by some lemon, with a no-show finish
F- light bodied crisp and refreshing however watery on the finish
O- really like this beer, however a little more malt will make a "helles" of a difference

This beers pretty dark for a lighter tasting beer. There's not very much smell but you get a hint of the lemon and tartness that makes up the flavor of the beer.

Excellent summer beer. I've become disappointed in Sam Summer over the years. This is by far superior. Light body and lemon taste makes it refreshing. A shanty? Yes. I'm a big fan of shanty beers

Clarity not all up in this one. Cloudy, yellow, like those aspirin commercials. Lemony aroma. Is this a shandy?

Soft grain accompanying the lemon and minimal citric presence. Mouthfeel is thin, but still allows the flavor all the way through the bottle. Couldn't imagine drinking one of these if it was less than 75 degrees outside.

From those summer variety packs of yesteryear.

Get them cloudy yellow feels ready, here it comes, like a more camoflauged hefeweizen. Lemony, a tad bit of sweetness. Is this a shandy beer? Its like the most non sweet one I've had, score.

Lemon and citrus come out in the taste even more. Enjoyable, soft edge of wheat possibly to it. Even a little bit of tartness to pair with the minimal sweetness.

Cool early in the day, or hot part of the day beer. You can score these in the summer variety pack from whenever. Summertime kinda beer.

Boston Beer Co. "Samuel Adams Porch Rocker"
12 oz. brown glass bottle
$8.99/six-pack @ Atlantic Liquors, Rehoboth Beach, DE

The name kind of says it all. Porch Rocker is an easy drinking, low alcohol beer that's great for relaxing in the shade on a hot summer day. It's surprisingly quite lemony despite the fact that that's not stated on the main label, but it's not really sharply tart... it's got a bit of an edge to it, but it's also sweetish, and that makes it seem a little artificial (kind of like lemon flavor that might be used for making a cake or something). Apparently it's their take on a Bavarian railer, so the sweetness makes sense. At 4.5% abv it's a little lighter than some beers, but not by much (Budweiser is 5.0%), so it's not like you can just drink them all day, although you might want to. Personally I lost interest about halfway through, but given that I was at the beach and just hanging out it didn't really matter. My wife, however, and everyone at the house loved it, and so we ended up making a runt to get more - that for me is a selling point. Worth trying.

A : A classic lager yellow color with a foamy cap about 2 fingers tall. Lacing is few and far between but visible. 90% transparent. Fairly unremarkable, so a 3.75.

S : Strawberries, wet malt, a little bit of yeast, clove, honey, and more wetness. It's a crisp aroma with some soggy notes.

T : Fruity and delectable. Stawberry, orange, lemon, banana. Behind that is a crisp malt body, and some more fruitiness. A hint of breadiness on the finish. It's kind of reminiscent of Lucky Bucket's Belly Flop, but actually a bit better.

F : Light bodied, retaining a smidge of creaminess, with very light carbonation, and it ends a tad soppy.

O : I'd have this again. A really nice, flavorful summer ale. Better than most of the summer only offerings I've had thus far.

I really like this beer. The lemon scent just screams summer. The taste is really mellow and smooth. Not too much carbonation, an easy going, non overwhelming taste.

The aftertaste is the best part. It reminds me of drinking Brisk Lemon Iced Tea from a Can and you get that sweet lemon taste.

Overall satisfying experience.

A - A very light golden blonde color, moderate carbonation, thin white head, and clear with no perceptible haze.
S - From the first whiff, the lemon zest jumps out and you get a hint of the malt.
T - It fits the bill as an extremely lemony, citrusy summer beer, malt presence hides in the background and hop are not noticeable either.
M - A light, easy sipping summer beer.
O - An enjoyable, easy to drink beer, but it's a bit too sweet for my tastes and I would prefer more citrus complexity with this beer.
