My wife bought this beer for me when looking for Ommegang Whitte.. she bought it by accident and i was out of a good beer to drink. I was plesantly surprised it was as good as it was. I would recomned this beer for a summer barbque or picnick with frineds..

Deep orange color, hazy with highlights. Foam is a very fine, thick network of small white bubbles.

Fruity aroma. Oranges, floral, other cirtusy flavors. Tang, and a small hop bite on the back end. In balance. There is a spicy flavor I can't identify, but which I don't think is coriander (though there is coriander).

Mouthfeel is medium body, highly carbonated.

One of the better American takes on the belgian witbier.

Pours clear deep yellow with a medium creamy white head that has good retention and lacing.

Smells of a good but mild blend of spicy yeast, with spices and slightly sweet malt in the back.

Tastes much the same but it's is more sweet than in the smell. Quite sewwt for the style, and not too dry as expexcted.

The mouthfeel is creamy and sweet with a medium body. And very very easy drinkin'. Don't know why it's in the winter seasonal but it kinda fits.

Wow, did they retire this one? Why?? It's really good. Yellow with a hint of orange maybe. Nice white head. Smells like malt and spice. Taste is a very nice wheat beer. Carbonation is just what it should be. I'm sorry they retired it. I'd like to have more of it.

Poured a slightly darker then straw color. A bit hazy with a nice 2 finger head that is fluffy and white.

Aroma is typical witbier, a little fruity like orange peel and spices such as coriander.

Taste is on par with the smell and expectations - orange peel, a little lemon flavor as well. Coriander, grains of paradise.

Mouthfeel is nice as well, medium, smooth and creamy.

Overall this is a solid white ale offering from SA. Nice and light, crisp, refreshing and easy to drink. I could drink quite a bit of this in the Oklahoma summer time, great beer to have sitting outside having a bbq!

Another solid seasonal from Sam Adams. Probably my favorite widely available witbier.

A- Very pretty haze in a weizen glass. Big, frothy head, bubbly, and golden in color.

S- Smell is very herbal almost like a tea made with hops. Smells of husky wheat and a bit of Belgian yeast

T- Taste is very refreshing and crisp. The spices fall in behind the malted wheat backbone and create a very light background of herbal flavors. Slightly bitter and slightly sweet

M- Bubbly and light to moderate thickness.

D- I can't see anything wrong with this beer unless you are looking for a strong barley malt or darkened malt taste.

Pours a light golden honey color. Two finger lacing and some spider web lacing. Good looking witbeer. Smeels of citrus and malt. Ditto on the taste. Mouthfeel is smooth and drinkability is high. Would definitly buy this again. Very good beer. Good example of the style.

WOW! A macro-brewery with 'eh' beers is able to squeeze this lively muhfugahin wit beer out!

Just what a Wit should look like... bleached-white atop a golden but hazy body. Just wonderful to look at. Keeps the head for about two minutes.

Smells faintly of coriander and has some grassy malt to it, with a whiff of cool whip! CHEAH!

Tastes mighty simple, but its such a clean beer that it deserved a "4".

The mouthfeel is second only to eating angel food cake out of an angel's...er...

Drinks like a champ. Only downfall is the Sam Adams patented "CLOY"-ality.

I like this spring offering from Sam Adams. The smell is lightly orangish with a hint of coriander.

The taste is a clean flavor with hints of the orange ans spices. I bought a six pack of this and easily drank a number of them without getting tired of the taste.

I picked up a six-pack of this at the Lucky Dog in Athens, OH.

Appearance: copper-gold color with a nice 3/4" head on the pour.

Smell: lemon and some hops

Taste: lemon, slight hoppiness, those really dominate, maybe some wheat flavor

Mouthfeel: light bodied, but nice though

Drinkability: can't get any better, you can drink it all night....a six-pack is great for the night

It's weird, I had a six-pack over the weekend while I was in DC and the beer tasted spicier...more like a winter beer. each beer I had, i also drank out of the bottle. the one im drinking right now which i poured in t a pint glass has more of a summer ale feel and taste....im not sure if it's what you drink out of or the specific batch

Served in a 22oz beer mug.

A- looks like a witbier cloudy with a big white head that disappates rather quickly.

S- not much nose from this tap but subtle hints of bread

T- another great tasting offering from the Boston Beer Co. nice balanced taste nothing overpowering clean and crisp. Hints of wheat. No aftertaste at all very clean finish.

M- a bit thinner than I expected, but far from watery

D- I had 16 oz of this beer and culd have had many more. The drinkability of this beer is as ussual where this SA beer shines. A smooth spring offering this is another triumph from SA.

Samuel Adams White Ale pours a murky orange from a brown 12oz glass bottle. Head is fantastic and goes to more than three fingers in a 22oz beer glass and is persistent to the end.

Nose is coriander, lemon and other citrus with a wheat base, quite complex and very pleasant.

Taste is a wonderful unfiltered wheat with coriander, lemon and other citrus... grapefruit?

All in all, I like this offering from Sam Adams... not bad, not bad at all.

Nice fluffy full head. Lots of lacing as head diminishes. Color is a hazy orange/yellow. Very nice looking.

Sweet grains and moderate hops. Citrus and spice notes as well. Smell is very good.

Citrus and grains come first... followed by a very mild bready finish. Goes down smooth and has very little bitterness.

Thick and creamy in mouth. Carbonation level is just right. Coats tounge well. Very impressed.

A great tasting beer. I was supprised how much I enjoyed it. Flavor is just great and mouthfeel is fantastic.

This Witbeir has an appealing blonde shade and just looks quite tasteful; itÂ’s hazy with plenty of carbonation and comes complete with a nice thin, almost white head on top and has some good lacing to it. The aroma is very pleasing and has some hints of wheat, oranges and lemons. This ale has a refreshing taste with a mild zing to it when it first hits your tongue, its really crisp and light with a bitter/citrusy taste overall, its mild aftertaste is just as tangy and is slightly more bitter but still very pleasing .

A - Almost clear, golden yellow with a moderatly thick white head that dissipates to a thin layer of tiny bubbles. -

S - Spices at the forefront, with some citrus in the background. Nice.

T - Grainy taste with spices and citrus behind it. No hopes detected.

M - A little thin and watery, but appropriate for the style. Not much carbonation, either.

D - Easy drinking, and not too filling. Very drinkable.

Appearance: Nearly opaque beer, the color of peach juice, poured with a thick two finger head that holds solidly, disappearing slowly leaving lace on the side of the glass.

Smell: Strong smell of orange peel and a faint hint of alcohol giving way to a floral background.

Taste: A little citrus and a light bite in the background rounds this beer out very well. The aftertaste is a bit sharp, but not off putting, very enjoyable.

Mouthfeel: Thick with a strong amount of carbonation; coats the tongue well, leaving maximum time to taste.

Drinkability: A very enjoyable beer, will definitely purchase again, though a bit heavy, but very good.

Dirty peach with fluffy large white sticky top. A zesty combo of hops and spices - maybe Grains of paradise, coriander, and something very flowery. Flavor is fluffy and delicate, a bit sugary but finishes dry. Feels light and refreshing but still a good amount of flavor. Very nice, I could drink a few of these and continually enjoy it.

A - Light orange color, completely opaque. Head is white and fades to a film. Very little lacing.

S - Like liquid gingerbread; spicy cloves, cinnamon and a bit of ginger. Cardamom and caraway seeds are also detectable.

T - There is too much carbonation here and it definitely hinders the ability to actually taste this beer, which is unfortunate because it tastes pretty good. After the carbonation burn, there's bready and spicy malts. Finish is sugary and spicy still.

M - Consistency is medium to thin and, as said above, there's too much carbonation.

D - Didn't think I would enjoy this beer as much as I did. It finds its way into the short list of Sam Adams beers that I actually enjoyed a lot.

Cloudy straw yellow. Pours a thin, filmy head. Smells of yeast, biscuits and fruit--appealing. Light on taste yet surprisingly malty. Taste is sweetish but balanced, and it's definitely more Blue Moon than Hoegaarden (the latter of which I don't care for). Light and crisp hop aftertaste. Very creamy, thick, full, and heavy in mouthfeel, but slightly mild in carbonation--a little more wouldn't hurt. Exceptionally acessible and drinkable for a wide audience of beer drinkers--not your average swill. Possibly too tame for other craft drinkers, but I just may start stocking this at my place.

Poured from a 12 ounce bottle into a glass. Freshness date stated this brew is fresh until the end of April.

A: A very cloudy, yellowish amber orange color. Good amount of head and as well as lacing on the glass.

S: The nose of this beer is mostly a lemony refreshing scent with kind of an apricot twist. Very pleasant, kind of reminds me of a spring like flower.

T: A nice sweet lemon & orange peel flavor hits the palatte up front and then continues through with a good hit of a refreshing mint flavor. Maybe a touch of honey in there as well. Just a enough after taste to leave you wanting more. It is comprised of a variety of citrusy flavors that round things out nicely.

M: The first couple of sips, this brew actually tastes a tad thin. However, the "wheaty" feel really kicks in and it actually turns out to be very refreshing.

D: Not to sound too cheesy here, but every sip of this beer tastes just like spring. Seriously, reminds me of a nice spring afternoon when things are really just starting to bloom, very nice on this cool late winter/early spring evening. This brew goes great with a chicken and rice dish.

This is a white ale I seem to enjoy more than most. I think the spicing is about right. I think the orange impression is just about right...Not real heavy duty on either but just enough to complement the creamy wheat flavors...body is about medium and a little bigger than some.

I've enjoyed this on tap for sometime when it is in season and now find it just as good in the bottles.

One of Sammy's best regular style beers along with the Noble Pils and a couple others I am forgetting.

Served at fridge temperature in a classic Hoegaarden witbier glass. Freshness date is notched for June of this year... purchased at my local dive liquor/beer store, New Milford Liquors last week.

Appearance- This beautiful unfiltered, medium gold beer pours a bit cloudy with a two finger snow white head. It settles rather quickly, leaving just a semi-transparent bubbly tarp over it.

Smell- This year's example (2008) is exceptionally fragrant and appealing... the coriander and orange peel is *way* upfront, and could be considered too much so, I'm sure. I love it, on the basis of its sheer perfection. Sweet, tigerlily-like aromas fill the air.

Taste- The spices explode across the tongue instantly, unraveling and unveiling a very deep and delicious array of layers that incorporate what seems to be rosehips, among other flowery elements. A bready malt character flows across the tongue, finishing with a crisp bitterness that preps the next sip. Yum.

Mouthfeel/Drinkability- Crackly but not too sharp... smooth enough to deliver a good swallow. It's the most uneventful aspect of this tasting. I would definitely recommend this year's delicious offering in lieu of Allagash's world-class brew if it's not readily available.

Sam adams was a good catch at the whole foods in downtown NYC over at union sq.

The pour is very pale and cloudy with a medium white head, very witbier-like. the smell is soft but full of a burnt malt feel with some hops behind it....maybe some 'panela' and cinnamon.

taste is rather cornyish and full of banana with an amazingly low bitter finish, almost no hops at all it would seem.

sam adams pulls a nice, medium bodied refreshing wit over here, worthy of sessioning due to price and quality. maybe not the best wit but a decent one anywhere.

Pours a hazy gold, with a smaller head and gobs of lace. When I first smelled this, I thought of freshly squeeze orange juice. The orange is intense but not nasty or overpowering. As the pint warmed (they serve beer too cold at Logan Airport) more spice and herb aromas emerged, providing good balance. The taste is citrusy with lemon, coriander, nutmeg and ginger strongly present. Lean malt flavors contend with tangy wheat and spices. Hops arent present except for a tiny bit of bitterness in the finish. The aftertaste is long and tart. The mouthfeel is coating and lightly carbonated.

I really enjoyed this. Its like an amped up Hoegaarden. I wish some Sam Adams seasonals would make their way up to Toronto.

A- cloudy yellowish gold with a nice fluffy head.

S- strong yeasty aroma with lots of spices and citrus.

T- nice balance of fruity flavor blended with a nice variety of spice flavors. strong yeasty flavor as well.

M- nice medium body. light carbonation but very smooth.

D- VERY easy to put down quite a few of these.

overall- i was pretty impressived with this offering from sam adams. Kind of like a more flavorfull blue moon. i went through about 10 of these over the course of a evening/night barbeque without ever getting tired of the flavors. at $12 a 12pack its hard to beat the price too.
