Aroma is malt, floral hops, sticky bread. Taste is very similar, malt is just slightly sweet with the hops adding a bit of bitter balance.
It's not their best offering but it's still a decent beer

Out of the summer variety pack. This is 5.4 abc. Nice head on initial pour and has nice lacing. Not much of an aroma. Smooth taste but finishes a little soapy. An average pale ale. Would not drink it if it was offered outside of the variety pack.

Served from 12oz bottle into English pint glass. A 1" sudsy white head slowly drops with abundant lacing on the glass. Color is hazy yellow orange with mild streaming carbonation. Aroma of floral and pine along with yeasty bread notes and some spice. Mouthfeel is light to medium and resinous. Flavors of pine, floral, and some lemon hops, white bread and some sort of spices. Overall: this one was good but not what I personally expect in an English style pale ale.

Poured into a half pint glass: color is slightly hazy gold, head is off white with fine bubbles, head presents at least 1/2 inch thick and is quite frothy. Other than being a bit dense/hazy looking the presentation is spot on for an english style pale ale.
Smell is pleasant - fuggle hops are notable and fairly fresh - grass, herbs and hint of citrus rind but grass is most prominent.
Taste is neutral pale malt, thin toast and biscuit notes, then grassy/herbal/minty hops. Limited citrus rind with a more earthy bent on the hop aromas.
Mouthfeel starts biting and sharp but softens with some warmth, but yet there is still a good amount of drying on the tongue.
Overall a beer that seems to get poorly reviewed out of its specific sub-style - no its not an american style pale ale - it has a more old style pale hop profile and a muted malt depth.

Poured into a pint. Color is hazy, medium amber. Plenty of lingering head that slowly fades into persistent pools. Aroma is strongly fruity, a little grassy (I didn't get the citrus claimed on the bottle). Drier than I expected from the aroma. Strong carbonation overpowers the taste at first. Once the bubbles fade, there's a pleasant fullness balanced with British hoppiness. This is s beer that invites you to have a second.
