Poured from a brown 12 oz. bottle. Has a bright golden color with a 1/2 inch head. Smell is of biscuit malts, some spices. Taste has lots of spices, nutmeg stands out, some malts. Feels medium bodied in the mouth and overall, it's not really the flavor profile I expect from this style, but it's a very refreshing and decent beer.

Seems like a decent witbier, although a bit darker than most and more head than most. Winter spices are present, although I’m trying to decide if they add or detract from the style. It seems like it would be a decent enough witbier on it’s own merits, so it’s best to decide if you like the American winter spices or not.

It's just very mediocre. I really wish Sam Adams would ditch this one for a season and roll out a stand-alone 6-pack of Old Fezziwig. I have no idea if it would sell better or not, but I would easily buy several of them while they were available, vs. zero of the White Christmas. For whatever reason, they refuse, saying they're still just a microbrewery, which I get, but that's why I say go w/ Winter Lager and Old Fezziwig instead.

For the White Christmas, you can notice the winter spices/ingredients in its smell and even first sip, but it's overwhelmed by the wheat. I can get plenty of equally 'Ok' witbiers year-round.

Come on, Sam Adams. Hook us up with the Fezzi.

Only slightly hazy yellow/orange body with an audibly fizzy white head that fades to a thin skin, plenty of bubbles rising. The nose exhibits the usual coriander aroma of a witbier, but with the addition of warmer spices that make me think of a pumpkin beer or a chai spice blend, which rarely works in beers. Still, as long as it stays out of the taste, it's not prohibitively bad. Well, it creeps into the flavor, but mild enough to remain drinkable. I don't know if that cardamom/ginger/clove/vanilla taste was intentional and supposed to be Christmas-y, but it is not, and even for a liberally-dictated Belgian-style beer, it isn't very appreciated. At least for strong flavors they kept it fairly mild, even if it is the predominant flavor. The coriander, however, is steamrolled by this. The feel is medium-bodied, almost soft, with only a mild zip of carbonation.
Hm. It works, if you're into that sort of thing. Personally, these heavy spices, even in a moderate amount, produce an effect verging on a headache for me. It's tough to say, because for a few gingerly sips it's pretty enticing, but even 12 ounces are more than enough for me, and that's coming from someone who can down a bomber of big flavors and/or alcohol, like a RIP or sour, with no problem. Give it a try but have a friend nearby to split it with if need calls.

Poured from a 12 OZ bottle into a pint glass. The appearance is a mildly cloudy orange gold color with a small white head. The aroma is wheat with nutmeg and cinnamon. The taste follows the nose with a bit of hops tossed in.

Look: Light orange-ish gold color with a slightly offwhite head made of visibly small bubbles that turns really foamy on top.
Smell: Bright citrus, cranberries, cinnamon, "holiday Yankee Candle", a bit floral
Taste: Bread, mellow hop bitterness, afforementioned candle spices... actually not that bad!
Feel: Smooth in both carbonation and mouthfeel, goes down easily, medium body.
Overall: Very mellow and easy drinking with a bit of holiday flavor... kind of impressed.

Poured into a clear glass. Has a straight-forward hazy blond look, moderate carbonation, one inch head that dissipates gradually.

I smell nutmeg, cinnamon, cloves, vanilla, eggnog, and a myriad of other combined spices that are difficult to distinguish. All balances the yeasty and wheaty smelling-nature of the Belgian-style beer. Nicely complex.

The spices immediately flood the mouth. Tastes of mainly lemongrass and, wheat, nutmeg, orange peel, faint cinnamon, and other mysterious spice flavors. Though I like the many different flavors, they seem to be all over the place and they're not really linear. Feels somewhat chunky and heavy in the mouth.

It's an all right beer, but it's not something I'd like to have often.

From the bottle, it pours a hazy lighter amber with a nice head, soon reducing to a nice ring. Lacing as you enjoy it. Light scent, I get more spices than anything else. Taste is malty with Christmas spices. Acceptable.
