From the 12 fl. oz. bottle with an expiration date of March 2014. Sampled on November 15, 2013.

It has a mostly golden to orange pour. The fizzy white head erupts than diminishes.

The aroma brings out some malt characters along with citrus and spice as well a slight hope note.

The body is light to medium

The taste is really quite typical of a wit with the toasted pale malt notes, citrus, and mild hop bit. But it feels generally clean all the way through.

Pours golden with a nice frothy head that lingers and laces well. Nose is of spice, mostly nutmeg. Light body with good carbonation. The taste is subtle, but of spice, with it being more nutmeg than anything else. Finishes cleanly with a slight spiciness that lingers. A solid non-complex beer, but not outstanding. It needs more flavor, be it from more spice or dark malt.

12oz : pilsner glass

Very slightly hazy golden yellow with a fizzy, foamy white head.

Nutmeg, cinnamon upfront, light floral and crackery notes.

Light blend of cinnamon/nutmeg spice, subtle citrus, and a grainy, malty backbone.

Medium body, crisp finish. Light, fizzy carbonation.

A good beer, though a bit subtle flavor profiles overall.

P: Cloudy piss yellow with a thin white bubbly head. No retention and minimal wet lacing.

S: Sparkling apple cider, wheat, nutmeg, cinnamon candy, mandarin oranges and dry yeast.

T/M: Taste follows the nose and packs a nice warming spice profile to tingle the palate. Powdery drying Belgian yeast hints of tobacco and apples. I get more apple than I get orange but its there. Spicy and citrus hops hit on the finish.

O: A nice blend of yeast and spices. Not overly dramatic but a nice sessional brew to enjoy during the holidays.

12oz bottle into a hefe glass
Best before: April 2014

A: Pours a golden apricot orange with 1.5 fingers width of white colored head. Lots of carbonation bubbles can be seen rising to the top of the glass and help to keep a think film of head retention throughout the entirety of the drink. Leaves a few small patches of lacing.

S: Orange, clove, nutmeg, wheat. Really nice.

T: Pretty sweet upfront with lots of wheat on the backend. A bit of citrus. Not much spice at all. Ok, but not nearly as good as the aroma implied it would be.

M/D: Full body, heavier than many in the style, moderate carbonation, pretty filling. Drinkability is average.

O: Overall, not bad, but not great. I'm not a huge fan of witbier's, and dont really consider them winter seasonals, so I likely wont be purchasing this one again. Worth a try though.
