Come on SA...really? Another unimaginative white ale? Not to mention its barely Januaey and youre already force feeding the masses (which is obviously who most SA are designed for now).
All that said, its not bad. Kind of a Summer Ale and White Ale hybrid. Both of which are ok but mixed?...meh.
Purchased at a local chain grocery store in Hillsboro, NH (did the last guy really pay 20$ in cali for this 12er????) and poured into a Gritty McDuff pint glass.
Looks like your typical heffy (thats hefeweizen) with its hazy, orangish color with an ok 1 finger head.
Smell is slight citrusy/wheat aroma.
Taste def.has orange, tangerine, an maybe lemon right up front. Not much alchohol smell and whatever hops are in there seem to be the usual SA standbys. Def.better cold than warm.
Overall, i guess this wobbly pop is ok, easy to drink, and easy on the wallet (unless u live in cali appearantly). I guess what my problems with this (and other recent SA selections) is that its obviously brewed for the masses, forced into stores waaaay too early (its still jan.in New England and spring beers are better in spring), and ever since SA got rid of the White Ale, every seasonal 12er has some lame attempt at originality. Stick with what git u there Jim.

From notes 2/23/13: Pours a hazy deep gold producing a shy 2 fingers of off-white, somewhat lasting, mostly tight head that leaves a thin sheet of lace. Aroma is a sherbet-like creamy sweetness, bready wheat, weak hints of pale and pilsner malts with notes of apricot, lemon and orange zest; spice and a hint of butter deep in the background.Taste is bread, dough, thin peach pie, some citrus with the same creamy sweetness of the nose, finishing slightly acidic and peppery but rapidly overtaken by sweet. Can't pick up the coriander in the nose or mouth. Somewhat like I think a peachy, slightly citrus wheat beer milkshake might taste like. Too sweet for my taste. Aftertaste is bready and sweet. Mouthfeel is heavy bodied, thick, syrupy, mouth coating finish with moderate but active carbonation.

Bottle to pint glass
Aroma...spice, nutmeg,orange, lemon.
Look...Cloudy yellow orange. Medium White head.
Taste...orange, anise, wheat. a little watery.
Feel... a little pasty, but not thick.
Good beer. Not a true Belgian White, which is Not necessarily bad, Similar to Blue Moon Belgian White, with a bit more character.

It pours a slightly opaque, dark golden color with a thin, white, frothy head. It has a pretty strong scent of fruit and coriander typical of Belgian style beers. The flavor is actually quite complex, especially for a Sam Adam’s beer. It has orange, coriander, pepper, and wheat as its primary taste. It has a very crisp, refreshing finish for a Belgian. Is maybe not as complex and the flavor isn’t quite as bold or lingering as some, but not bad. Despite the criticism, I think this is a solid Sam Adam’s beer and a very fitting in the Spring Variety Pack.

Cloudy orange with thin white head and average retention. Orange, honeysuckle, and herbal aromas. Wheat, citrus and coriander flavors with an herbal lingering. Full mouth feel but low carbonation.
The citrus aroma is nice but the combination of flavors is not appetizing at all. Just a tangerine flavor sticks around. I have to think this was made for people who don't normally like or drink beer.
