A - Light Gold in color. White thin head with tight bubbles. Hazy.

S - Lemon meringue pie. Very sweet smelling. I also get another spice. According to their website it is white sage. Smells like lavender to me.

T - Tastes like lemon meringue pie mixed with lavendar. It is very sweet. The crisp rye finish along with a little hop bitterness helps dry out the finish. The complexity is definitely there but I'm not really appreciating it. After a few sips the dry bitter finish turns kind of chalky but in a flowery kind of way. Very odd.

M - Full mouthfeel. Medium carbonation. Kind of slick.

O - Well, sometimes Sam Adams makes really good seasonals, and other times you wonder what they were thinking. They just got a little to clever for their own good with this one. Why do they make so many of their summer/spring beers so sweet?

Yet another witbier from the folks at Sam Adams. 12 oz. bottle poured into a globe glass shows a hazed lemon amber with a half inch white cap. So so retention for the style.

Aroma of noble hops it seemed initially though an artificial lemon/flowery nature becomes more prominent as the cap settles. Sage comes across more as rosemary on the nose while the coriander and rye escape me when cold especially. Hop aroma adds a pine character with exposure. Rye texture is quite prominent in the taste while the lemon notes return on the finish. Rye gives the feel a fullish body while the citrus keeps it in check, though it does get a bit harsh for the style with warming. Overall pretty decent brew and a bit of a different tack.

Big corriander impression on the aroma and the taste. A little zestiness from the rye addition but it is pretty subltle...almost a little black pepper in there as well. Reminds more of a saison/wit hybrid.

It' interesting enough but a little overspiced for my tastes. If you like corriander laden brews this is for you.

Poured out a cloudy, golden color with a small, head of white foam. It smelled of pepper, spice and wheat. Tasted too peppery with lemon and coriander. Some sweet caramel and wheat.

Hazed yellow color under a quickly dissipating off-white head. Smells quite sage-y with a coriander and bright citrus backdrop. Herbal, peppery, and floral. A much more prominent grainy wheat element shows up mid-sip and less sage all around. Orange peel and coriander sweetness transition to a lavender-like floral note and faint ginger. An interesting take on the style for sure. I really like the fresh grain in the finish. Medium bodied and perhaps a touch undercarbonated, but a solid, refreshing beer overall.
