Poured from a brown 12 oz. bottle. Has a golden color with a 1/2 inch head. Smell is strong of strawberry jam. Taste has some strawberry to it, but not overpowering, still has lager flavors as well. Feels medium bodied in the mouth and overall is a refreshing beer and a pretty good one at that.

Appearance: pours a hazy yellowish orange color with a 2" head that lingers around a while. Some mild lace paints the glass.

Smell: loads of strawberries here with some grassy notes in the background.

Taste: lightly grainy malt base with grass, biscuit, a hint of lemon zest, and a decent strawberry flavor that is more sweet than expected. Bitterness is mild.

Mouthfeel: medium bodied beer. Crisp to start, less crisp and a touch dry at the finish. Long lasting strawberry aftertaste here.

Overall: not a bad fruit beer, but one of these is enough in a session. Good to drink on a hot day in the sun.

SMELL: Fresh, ripe strawberries. A bit of bready malt almost peaks through the candy sugar sweet strawberry aromatics.

TASTE: Strawberry jam, bready malts. Strawberry juice and fruit snacks come to mind instantly. A faint leafy bitterness, paired with a faint buttery toffee note. The fruity strawberry note is predominant.

FEEL: Medium bodied, well carbonated, with a bit of tart strawberry in a sweeter finish.

OVERALL: For a strawberry lager, it doesn't get much better. Not everyone's cup of tea, but tasty for what it is.

Found the Long Shot 6-er at the COOP last night... Getting around to them tonight. Pours with a long lasting 1 finger white head atop a slightly hazed golden brew. Nice lacing for the entire glass.

Nose smells like real strawberries and not artificial... sorta processed perhaps, like jam... but real strawberries... maybe some pale maltiness that carries the berry essence... no hops... smells pretty good.

Wow... again, surprisingly straight up strawberry essence... not much else going on.. just enough pale malt... a bit of something that I associate with "metallic flavor" on the finish.

Nice light body with good carbonation.

I was skeptical, but I like this one.

August notched on the label.

Straw yellow colour, 1 inch head of foam.

The smell is ALL strawberries. Not my fav fruit by any means but I had zero hate against the smell of them.

The taste is certainly authentic. Strawberries....the beer is brewed with them so I expected it would taste of them and to be honest, I'd rather drink this than eat fresh strawberries. Weird, eh? For the like of me, I can't pull out any other flavours but I can't complain. For a fruit beer naming the fruit used, this is on the mark. A nice homebrew that Samuel Adams gave a chance for others to try.

12 oz. bottle,

A: Pours a lightly hazy yellow with a small white head with good retention, spotty lace.

S: Strawberry Crush, it is nostalgic and a bit odd to smell in a beer, but fun.

T: Strawberry soda initially, but then the lager comes in, and it's just a strange transition. The flavours are nice enough, but they never gel.

M: Light-bodied, crisp, a little cloying, refreshing to a degree.

O: A fun little summer experiment, it is artificial, but enjoyable for a single purchase to try something different.

Pours a three finger white head that fades slowly leaving some lace. Crystal clear light amber color. Light-medium carbonation and light-medium bodied. Strong strawberry nose, flavor is tart strawberry. $8.99 for a mixed 6-pak from Julio's Liquors Westborough, MA.

Snagged all three of the longshot beers at the House of 1,000 beers.

A - Daymn my pour has a shit ton of sediment floaties! Ew! Beer is overall a fairly bright yellow with just a 1/4 inch of head that settles to a mild lace ring.
S - Lager yeast meets Strawberry puree, I am actually surprised how strong it smells and how little actual lager it smells of.
T - Really not loving this I am one of the few that like my fruit beers to taste of fruit and not beer. Very little strawberry flavor or tartness just a touch of sweet malts and no hops. If anything I am grateful it doesn't taste like corn.
M - Light to medium, leading toward refreshing. OK summer brew.

Overall it goes out to accomplish what its brewed as a lager with strawberry flavors. This is why I can't rate it too low since it excels in both balance and flavor.

Pours a brilliant golden with a hint of pink and a frothy one inch ivory head that slowly dissipates, levine spotty lacing.

Grain and strawberries form the initial aroma. Seems fairly sweet, honey-like.

Flavor is grainy and citrusy, with a fairly crisp finish, and strawberry emerges in the aftertaste. Lemon and orange complement the strawberry flavor nicely. The malt backbone is slightly bready.

Body is slightly watery, with carbonation on the high aside, providing a sense of refreshment.

Very clean, refreshing beer. Strawberry doesn't totally overwhelm. It's a bit sweet, but it's a strawberry lager...

Poured from bottle into a pint glass

Appearance – The beer pours a golden color with a little bit of an orange-red like hue. The brew is lightly hazed with many particulates floating about the brew. Upon pouring there is a one finger billowy white head that has a good level of retention slowly fading to leave a fantastic level of lace on the sides of the glass.

Smell – The aroma is big and sweet. The sweet is a massive dose of strawberry taking on an almost strawberry jam like smell. While sweet, the aroma is very authentic of strawberry with no artificial smells. Mixed with this aroma is a little bit of biscuit and honey overall giving a fantastically strawberry shortcake like smell.

Taste – The taste starts out with a biscuity and quite sweet taste. The sweetness upfront, while composed mostly of strawberry, had other sweeter tastes of caramel as well. As the taste advances the caramel fades while the strawberry gets even stronger. With the increase in strawberry comes some flavors of a grassy hop and a little bit of lemon adding just a touch of sourness and bitterness to balance out the sweet leaving a nice taste to linger on the tongue.

Mouthfeel – The body of the beer is on the medium to slightly thicker side for a lager of 5.5 % abv with a carbonation level that is on the average side. The combination of the two are rather nice for blending drinkability, with the sweet fruitiness of the beer while still upholding the lighter malt and the little bit of hop that is there at the end of the taste.

Overall – I think strawberry beers are some of the harder ones to craft and this one is pretty good. It has a good showing of strawberry without being artificial or cloying in nature and still maintaining a good level of drinkability.

I picked up a bottle of Samuel Adams Strawberry Lager from this years LongShot Series last week for $1,89 at The Lager Mill. I'm working my way though this years LongShot Series and this was the next one that I randomly grabbed, I have yet to have a Strawberry Lager that I liked, so let's see if this one can win me over. Notched best by September. Poured from a brown 12oz bottle into an Imperial pint glass.

A- The label looks ok, it's got the typical LongShot label with a drawing of the winner with their name on it. It poured a slightly hazy yellow color that took on a golden hue when held to the light with two and a half fingers worth of fluffy white head that died down a thing ring that left some nice lacing behind. This was a nice looking Lager, but it was just a little hazy for the style.

S- The aroma starts off with a higher amount of sweetness followed by tons of strawberrys being the first to show up, at first I get a big strawberry preserve like aroma that develops into a strawberry hard candy like aroma, Up next comes a light citrus aroma with some creamy and bready malt aromas. The aroma was average, but I thought the lack of balance with the sweet and pungent strawberry aromas really hurt the aroma of this beer, the strawberry was too intense.

T- The taste seems to be similar to the aroma but much lighter and balanced, it starts off with a medium amount of sweetness followed by some grainy, sweet malt, and bread flavors that make for a typical Lager base. The strawberry flavors are just about at the right level and aren't too overpowering and they don't taste artificial. On the finish there's pretty much no bitterness with a slight bit of tartness instead with a grain, sweet malts, and strawberry like aftertaste. The taste was Ok, it was better and more balanced than the aroma.

M- Smooth, clean, crisp, on the light side of being medium bodied with a medium amount of carbonation. The mouthfeel was nice and it seemed to be fairly true to style.

Overall I wasn't really into this beer and I thought it was an average example of the style, it wasn't the worst Strawberry beer I've had, but it didn't win me over either. This beer had decent drinkability, it was smooth and not filling, but the flavors didn't do the best job at holding my attention, so I think one would be enough for me, I don't feel the need to have another one. What I liked the most about this beer was the mouthfeel, it worked nicely with this beer and it was fairly true to style. What I liked the least about this beer was the aroma, the strawberrys were just way too dominant for my liking and it made the aroma really unbalanced. All in all this beer was ok, but it just wasn't for me and it hasn't broken the trend of disappointing strawberry beers for me. I would say this beer was pretty similar to Abita's Strawberry Lager and I think they are just about on the same Level. This was my second beer from this years LongShot series and another one that I just wasn't into, I hope this last one is pretty good because because so far I'm not a fan of this years LongShot Series.

12 oz bottle into a pint glass.

A: Pours a straw color ridden with chunky yeast particles. The head is a two finger white shade. It's nicely creamy and retains acceptably. TONS of lacing on the glass, too. But still...the body's a mess.

S: The strawberry notes come through strongly at first. When allowed to open up, slight (balanced) diacetyl and noble hopping comes through, as well. The first few whiffs, though, were ridiculously sweet - almost like it was a strawberry soda instead of a beer.

T: It's got a little more balance than I expected. The first part is where the fruit qualities reside; after that, it morphs into a pre-pro pilsner, displaying notes of noble hops, biscuity malt/yeast, and mild adjunct. Some strawberry sweetness returns in the finish, a bit excessively at times. Nonetheless a successful warm weather refresher, nor does it strike me as being disgustingly artificial.

M: Not as dry as I like my lagers, but it's a fruit beer. It could be a bit less cloying on the back end at least. Still, I like its drinkability. Completely under-carbonated, though.

O: On occasion, I'm a sucker for a good lager. And also on occasion, I'm a sucker for a good fruit beer. This fulfills both quotas reasonably well. At the end of the day, it's rock-solid mindless refreshment, no more, no less.

12 oz bottle pours a slightly hazed gold color with a modest white head. Little floaties abound detracts from the appearance, big time.

Nose is huge strawberry soda aromas, no way this is all from natural strawberry editions.

Taste is too strawberry soda-esque...and the malt not as light, crisp and grainy as it probably should be. I dont know, its not as refreshing as I thought and the strawberry flavors are artificial tasting. I was hoping it would similar to Abita's Strawberry Harvest....not so much.

A- pours a clear golden color with a small fizzy white head that reduces quickly, leaving a small layer on top. Some small particles floating around the glass.

S- straight up strawberry. Reminiscent of a strawberry daiquiri, strawberry pie and strawberry purée. A little bit of a pie-crust-like malty sweetness. Smells just as a strawberry lager should.

T- sweet malty notes blends with strawberry flavors that turns slightly astringent mid-palate, the finish is dry with a tart strawberry flavor in the linger.

M- light body with medium carbonation, somewhat foamy mouthfeel with a slick finish

O- pretty refreshing beer for a hot day. Nothing extreme but its just what you would expect a strawberry liger to taste like. The tart notes of strawberry leave you wanting another sip, this one went down quite easily
