Appearance: pours a hazy yellowish orange color with a 1/2" head. Light lace develops.

Smell: a very faint floral aroma is all you can detect.

Taste: the wheat is very mild here along with a pale malt. Definite floral tones dominate from the hibiscus they used, with a hint of green grape in the background. Mild bitterness here.

Mouthfeel: lighter side of a medium beer. Crisp throughout. Relatively clean aftertaste with a bit of lingering floral tones.

Overall: this is a definite steaming hot summer day type of beer to quench a thirst. But overall it is very mild, a bit too floral, and needs some more bitterness IMHO to kick it up a notch. It is unique so I can see why this was picked.

I held on to this one for a while before trying it. Maybe because I just love American wheat ales oh so much.

This is a mild wheat beer. It's consistent, sure. Nothing much interesting going on with it. It's kind of just "there" with not much going on. Eh. Could have done without it really. Nice enough to try though.

Poured from a bottle into a Sam Adams Glass.

Appearance: Cloudy amber color. This white head with no lacing on the glass.

Smell: Smell was mild, mostly pine and floral notes.

Mouthfeel/Taste: Smooth medium bodied. Taste was grassy with odd floral and earthy flavors.

Overall: This was one of the worst beers I have ever tasted! The flavor was not well balanced at all, the earthy flavors were not pleasant at all. Sorry, but I cannot imagine how this one got through as a winner to be bottled. Maybe it's just me and my taste, but I will not waste my money again on this one.

12 ounce bottle into signature pint glass, best before 9/2013. Pours lightly hazy golden amber color with a 2 finger dense and fluffy white head with great retention, that reduces to a nice cap that lingers. Spotty foamy lacing clings on the glass, with moderate carbonation streaming up. Aromas of lemon, pear, apple, hibiscus, wheat, bread, honey, grass, herbal, light pepper, and floral earthiness. Nice and pleasant aromas with good balance between malt and floral notes; with solid strength. Taste of big hibiscus, pear, lemon, apple, wheat, bread, honey, herbal, light clove, and floral earthiness. Lingering notes of light fruits, hibiscus, wheat, bread, honey, and floral earthiness on the finish for a bit. Good balance of fruity notes with hibiscus and bready malt; with no cloying sweetness after the finish. Medium carbonation and body; with a lightly creamy and smooth mouthfeel that is ok. Alcohol is very well hidden with hardly any warming noticed after the finish. Overall this is a solid wheat ale. Good balance of malt and hibiscus flavors; and very smooth to drink. An enjoyable offering.

A- pours a golden amber color with a nice thick and creamy white head, good retention leaves a few patches of lace behind

S- clean grain with some floral notes infused, not much else going on

T- strong malt profile up front with a tartness from the wheat, the hibiscus adds a light fruity aspect. Mid-palate transitions into sweet and syrupy that seems to overtake all of the floral notes. The sweetness lasts into the finish, continuing to mask the floral flavors

M- medium body with a creamy mouthfeel leads to a smooth-yet-syrupy mouthfeel

O- for this to be a summer beer, it was just to sweet and sticky for me. It was still somewhat easy to drink but the longer I drank it, the more it started to taste like a mixed cocktail. The delicate floral flavors were just masked for the most part

Sept notched on the side of the bottle

A= Pours a nice golden amber color with a thick two fingers of head on it that rises and falls rather slowly with nice steady lacing on the side of the glass.

S= The smell has a sort of sugary sweet hibiscus smell to it. I've had hibiscus and I've had hibiscus in a syrup and this smells like the latter. A bit of wheat comes through as well.

T= The taste is still dominated by the sugary sweet hibiscus flower with a light wheat coming from behind it.

M= A nice amount of carbonation.

O= This is a solid beer. I actually liked it quite a bit. The hibiscus is weird and a little fake tasting but it's good still. If you've had hibiscus preserved in syrup this is probably something that is nostalgic for you.

12 oz bottle pours a hazed, dark gold color with a large fluffy cap of white head. Retention and lacing are both pretty decent.

Nose is sweet malt, snappy wheat and definitely some sort of floral hibiscus thing going on...not really like a hibiscus blossom, but more of a sweet/tart fruitiness.

Taste is pretty big on the floral fruitiness actually. I dont think it works overly well on this beer though...the malts are too dense and rich - honey-esque, leaving the crisp, clean wheat flavors I so love in an APWA in the dust. Mouthfeel is too cloying. Not drain pour bad, but not worth revisiting either.

12oz bottle to SN IPA glass

A -Pours a hazy amber/orange with a finger of white foam. Good retention with speckled lacing.

S - Sweet wheat malt, grainy and bready, honey sweetness, floral and grassy hops.

T - Starts off with grainy backed wheat, grassy hops, lemons, some chalkiness in the middle, doughy bread, light bitterness. Finishes clean with hints of lactic lemon tartness.

M - Soft and creamy carbonation, medium feel, clean finish.

A basic wheat with some light tartness. Sweet and chalky in the middle but cleans up on the finish. Drinks good.

Best before 9/2013.

Pours a hazy orange with a foamy orange-tan head that fades to nothing. Small dots of lace slowly drip into the remaining beer on the drink down. Smell is of malt, wheat, and slight floral hibiscus aromas. Taste is much the same with grain and fruity flavors on the finish. This beer has a lower level of carbonation with a slightly crisp mouthfeel. Overall, this is an average beer with a mild floral smell and fairly refreshing but subdued flavors.

Pours a hazy orange color with a thin off-white head. Aromas of milled grain. Taste begins with some fresh flower flavor, then a syrupy grainy middle, and a dry tart finish. Mouthfeel is good. Overall an interesting tasting beer, though not something I would probably buy again.
