Clear copper Amber color with slight head that went away pretty quick. Smells like a typical ale. Taste slightly toasted bread with some sweet Carmel. Medium body with a little more carbonation than expected but pretty good. Overall it's an alright ale. Had to get it since I was at bell in hand and it's the only place you can gets this beer.

Good. Pub exclusive. When in Boston must try. Pairs well with the Sam Adams burger.

Had on tap at the Bell in Hand Tavern in Boston, right off the freedom trail. Appeared clear, light amber with very thin lace head. Smelled of light tones of citrus and hops. Had a light sweetness first taste with the citrus, caramel and hops and finished with a bitter tone. Poignant feel, sharp yet smooth. Overall a disappointment given the pomp and circumstance of being the official beer of the "oldest tavern in America". Hopefully this was not the premiere beer back in the day of the founding fathers!
