12oz longneck.
A) Pours with a finger thick head then settles quickly to a thin lacing on top. Slightly hazy body. Bronze in color.
S) Mellow aroma of caramel and floral tones. Weak overall.
T) Thin in regards to flavor. A sugary flavor throughout. Finishes with a hop bitterness but not worthy enough to be called an APA.
M) A medium body feel up front then thins out. Dry in the finish. Slight soda / sugar water feel.
D) I would not have another. You win some. You lose some. I lost this time.

On tap at the brewpub in Coeur d'Alene in August 2009. Couldn't put this review in with the rest of my backlog earlier, as this place was listed as closed for a period of time.

Pours a light yellow-golden color with a short single-finger white head without any retention and really no lacing either. The nose is pretty bad with just a tiny amount of pale malt and not really any hop presence. The taste follows suit and is just uber-bland. Feel is really light and astringent. No reason to take more than an ounce or two of this.

the third and final beer I tried at the pub. It was ok... Nothing specials... i really hoped that being in the northwest that this would be more like what I see a "west coast" pale ale would be...but there was not much character... I think that it is a pale ale for the lowest common denominator. A pale ale not to offend... anyway... nothing special

Appearance-This beer pours to a bronze bodied beer with a moderate orange hue. Weak had and lace.

Smell- It has mild but nice aroma. Hops and malt are all in on the nose of this beer.

Taste- The taste is a little bit yeasty and bread like with a mellow bitterness.

Mouthfeel- Very watery not much to the body of this beer at all.

Drinkability- A little less than average not something I would just order.

I was poured a three ounce sample at the Alehouse in Moscow, ID.

A: It poured a nearly transparent bleached yellow with a slight bone white head that was gone before the first sip and produced only a spotty lacing.

S: There was a faint aroma of grains, diluted lemons and floral hops.

T: It was grainy with a nip of hoppy bitterness and a tad of citrus. It produced a sour aftertaste that lingered and spoiled the subsequent tastes of the beer.

M: Thin...thin...thin. It as very watery and had a sour aftertaste.

D: I choose to drink a bud rather than have a second serving of this brew.

Comment: An underlying characteristic of this brewery is its watery one dimensional beers...this is another. Not impressed.

I ordered a pint of Centennial Pale Ale at the brewpub. Served in a pint tumbler.

Pours a nice gold color and is hazy. Virtually no head was served with beer, but I'm sure they are told to do it that way.

The smell is faint but hoppy.

The taste is of a malted grain, and a bit of a citrus flavor.

The mouth feel is crisp and clean. The beer is moderately carbonated.

This is a drinkable beer. It is the most popular beer brewed by the brewery. However, it is not a very remarkable example of the style. I’ve had better pale ales. This one is just “so-so.”

Bottle purchased at the Rocket Market in Spokane. Coeur d'Alene is about 30 miles east of here, so it can be considered a local micro. I see the brewer and someone else - who probably works at the brewery - have given this a 5. I don't think anyone could bring themselves to do that unless they were connected to the brewery.

Poured a slightly cloudy orangy gold color. Small white head that dissipated in about a minute. Slight, thin lacing.

Smell is the same nasty astringent shampooish smell that I got from their Huckleberry Ale, but less assertive. Sweet malts are notable, and they seem a bit too notable for a pale ale.

Taste is marginally better than the smell. There is a spicy hop presence, but the malts are actually a bit stronger. In the background is the hovering horse shampoo flavor that seems to be a trademark of this brewery - though I didn't notice it in their brown ale.

Mouthfeel is adequate, no more, no less.

This - unlike the Huckleberry Ale - is drinkable, but there's no reason to do so. There are much better pale ales out there. I just wish there was a micro within a hundred miles of here that was consistently good.

Light gold color, medium white foamy head. Aroma is malty, fruity and sweet. A medium bodied Pale Ale. Nicely hoppy with good malt overtones. Malts are fruity and sweet. Hops are spicy. Mouthfeel is full.
Finish is clean and crisp. No bitterness in aftertaste.

The color pleasing amber with a minimal head and fair sheets of lace. The aromas of malt dominate the nose, crisp and fresh, adequate I’d say. Slightly sweet at the front, skinny top with a sparsely carbonated finish, hops quite pronounced and a fair to middling dry aftertaste, drinkable, but not one of their better efforts.

A good pale but not great, note that the reviewers from the east put it okay while bcurry/Idaho thought it was perfect. Moderate carbonation & head. The ABV is 4.5%.

My bottle had barely any carbonation. A vigorous pour elicited only a small head. Very fruity estery aroma indicated I should be ready for a Ringwood beer. Yup, in fact the overwhelming Ringwood characteristics (too much diacytal(sp?) in this case) made it hard for any other flavors or aromas to make their presence. A not bad change of pace beer, but not very well balanced.

Copper in color and very clear. The head settles quickly into a thin layer. The aroma is comprised of both fruity yeast esters and a fruity / slightly floral American hop and British hop combination. There's a slight tartness there as well. It's quite similar esterwise compared to Bell's pale ale in aroma-- perhaps they use the same yeast strain? No grapefruity Cascade notes at all. As the beer warms, biscuit malt notes can be perceived. The hop bitterness is fairly mild for style, and malt flavors are equally light-- this could even pass for an amber. Very fruity flavors are persistent from start to finish-- I even detect a bit of green apple acetaldehyde in the background. The finish, however, is quite clean and just a touch bitter. Hmm... this is an odd pale but an interesting brew. The flavor and aroma contributions from the yeast strain make this brew worth trying. Definitely not your typical APA.

Presentation: 12 oz brown long neck with no freshness date, blurb about the beer and the brewery on the label. Very noticeable sediment in the bottle.

Appearance: Mildly chill hazed golden orange with a frenzied head when poured, the bottle was not a gusher but even with a light pouring the beer foamed up to form a billowing white head. The head subsided to a slightly rocky lace and left traces down the glass.

Smell: Lemon fruitiness almost lactic … hmmm. Astringent grain and a faded hop in the aroma also.

Taste: Light bodied with an apparent yet mild tartness, husk and grain astringency present. Carbonation is high though yields a smoothness after the beer is poured. Hop bitterness takes a bite though the flavour is vague. Hops and grain with their astringency produce a bone dry finish.

Notes: Something awry here, oddly has the character of a small Belgian ale though I am sure this is not where they want this beer to be. Perhaps some of their wheat beer yeast was still in the fermenter or they have the beginnings of a lactic culture in their brewery.
